Happens to me every week this season, it seems. I am second in total points in my league, but in sixth place in the standings.

I like the college OT, except that they start too close for the pros. While a FG from the 25 yard line may be tough for college kickers, it's too easy for pro kickers. You should start the pros on the 35 instead of the 25 -- then you have a tough FG if you don't pick up any yards. And you there should be NO extra points at all in OT -- always have to go for 2 after a TD. My two cents.

Anyone have any thoughts on Cal vs. USC now that the line has moved to 21 points? As a Cal fan, I'm too close to the situation to be truly objective, but Cal has played USC tough almost every year since Tedford arrived: 2002: 30-28 USC 2003: 31-28 Cal 2004: 23-17 USC 2005: 35-10 USC (the only really ugly loss for Cal) 2006: 23-9 USC (but closer than the score, and still not 3 TDs) 2007: 24-17 USC Obviously, USC has Cal's number, but 21 points seems like a lot. Am I being blinded by team loyalty? -

I locked in big on Baylor +2 1/2 early in the week. Then the line moved and kept on moving. I was smug. But today, WSEX has "cancelled" my bet, claiming that all earlier bets on the Baylor-WSU game were voided when the date changed from Saturday to Friday. The line is now Baylor -4. What a load of crap. -

Bump Any thoughts on today's game? Tomorrow's? I've been riding Cal so far, so that'll again likely be my play again on Saturday, if anyone cares. -

Anyone know why the Cal-Mich St. line moved two points in the last 12 hours? -

Down to -11 1/2 at WSEX ... Right after watching the Giants-Packers game, I predicted the line would be Pats -10 1/2. I was wrong, but it looks like that's where it may ultimately end up. -

It pays to shop around on moneyline bets -- sometimes even on the same site. WSEX has the moneylines listed at +350 (Giants) and -500 (Pats) in its "Straight Wager" section, but gives +426 and -488 in its "Long-Term Markets - Pro Championship" section. Pretty big difference between +350 and +426 ... -
Started Santonio over Driver. Started Gore over FWP. Looking good so far. Opponent has Pittsburg defense, though, so I hated that late pick for a TD. Canceled out more than half of Santonio's big game with one play.

Started Gore over Willie Parker and I dodged a bullet.

My money league has done Vegas about every other year for the past eight. We pick a spot each year, but Vegas is very popular. Have also done Mexico, Reno, New Orleans, and Tahoe. We just do it in somebody's hotel room. Typically, we all arrive on Friday and party our asses off that night, draft Saturday afternoon, the repeat the partying from the previous night. Someone almost always passes out during the draft. It's an excuse to have a guys-only get-away from the wives and girlfriends, and it gives us a chance to have fun with old high school and college friends who have spread out across the country.

10-team league QB (we start two): Favre, Romo (Kitna backup) RB (we start three): Gore, Grant, Peterson (Parker backup) WR: Owens, Driver, Galloway (all my backups suck) TE: Witten K: Crosby Def/ST: TB

Made it in my money league for the first time in several years. Thanks to Brady for a timely subpar performance on the opposing side!! Thanks to Gore for finally posting some yards. Thanks to Witten for being such a stud. Thanks to Favre for his resurgance this year. Now I'm up against the Payton-led team. Here's one guy hoping he has another modest week.

I'm benching Willy Parker for _________ in my playoffs
StrikeGold replied to yostevo's topic in FFToday Board
Starting Grant, Peterson, and Gore. Sitting Fast Willie. Tough choice between Gore and Parker, but on some rare occassions, Gore gets in the endzone. -
Who goes to the playoffs in this situation?

If it's not spelled out in your rules, you should look to the NFL rules for guidance. The NFL tie-breaker rules indicate that, when more than two teams are tied, you start with head-to-head records among the teams as athe tie breaker. The NFL then looks at (2) conference records, (3) common games, (4) strength of victory, (5) strength of schedule, and so on. However, once you get down to two teams, you again look first at head-to-head among those two teams. This would mean that teams 2 and 3 are out after looking at the group head-to-head records. With only two teams left, you again look at head-to-head records between those two remaining tems. Team 4 wins out. All that said, in my league, we make it known before the season starts that tie-breakers are always based on total points. This avoids having a better team eliminated because they happened to lose a game when their players were out on a bye.
