Your sarcasm detector must have a short in the circuit.

Gahhh why did he have with Johnny Football's girlfriend? Now I'm still on the fence...
-
Thanks guys, that's the way I'm leaning too.
-
Agreed, but welcome to the RB poo I look at each week. My WR's are pretty good though Beckham, Hopkins (Decker this week), Edelman. Anyone have an opinion for flex RB?
-
I've got RB crap too, but not due to bye weeks. Everyone come take a smell: Pick 2 PPR Matt Jones Joseph Randall Melvin Gordon LeGarrette Blount Duke Johnson Or pick 3 if you think a 3rd is better than Eric Decker at flex.
-
I dropped him, going with Delanie Walker from here on out.
-
With Pats on bye, I'm going with the Jets D against Miami.

Tonight's weather, who you /startingsitting?

Right now it looks like 50% chance of storms at kickoff but it should clear up for most of the game. -
I haven't seen anything in weeks. Is he suiting up tomorrow night against the Steelers?

Chuck Norris warns of government plot to take over state
JackARoot replied to edjr's topic in The Geek Club
No worries, Chuck Norris could single handedly defend Texas from the feds ... -
Yeah, I grew-up in the 80's so I really enjoyed those references. I also enjoyed 11/22/63 ... I might have to try Doctor Sleep.

I read NOS4A2 over the summer and it was solid. I'm thinking of reading HSB soon. Another good debut novel - Ready Player One by Ernest Cline I'm also a fan of Charles Stross, I've read all of his Laundry File series and liked them so I'm going back and reading some of his older stuff. Saturn's Children and Neptune's Brood are very good and somewhat of a tribute to Heinlein. I just started Halting State and am enjoying it so far. Also another Laundry Files is due out next summer.

Old pirates, yes, they rob I; Sold I to the merchant ships, Minutes after they took I From the bottomless pit. But my hand was made strong By the 'and of the Almighty. We forward in this generation Triumphantly. Won't you help to sing This songs of freedom 'Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs; Redemption songs. Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; None but ourselves can free our minds. Have no fear for atomic energy, 'Cause none of them can stop the time. How long shall they kill our prophets, While we stand aside and look? Ooh! Some say it's just a part of it: We've got to fullfil the book. Won't you help to sing This songs of freedom- 'Cause all I ever have: Redemption songs; Redemption songs; Redemption songs.

Hank has always been the straight cop, and I don't think he can stand to not go to the DEA at this point. I don't think his conscience will allow him to stay quiet even though it is likely to destroy him and his family. I still think something bad is going to happen to Junior ... maybe Jessie does torch the house and Junior is stuck inside?

I have a friend of the family who is in the business of buying used cars at auction for dealers. So I just call him, tell him what I'm looking for and how much I can spend, and he'll get me one within a few weeks. He'll charge me a nominal fee, I think I paid him $500 the last time we bought a car a couple of years ago.

Well, to continue with the death theme. I had a friend in grade school, our parents were friends and they would alternate picking us up from school and we would spend time at each other's house. Typically my mom or his dad would pick us up. His dad was a really nice guy and I always enjoyed spending time at their house. We ended up going to different high schools, and I think it was my sophomore year that his dad died unexpectedly of a heart attack. So my dad and I went to the calling, and my friend wasn't there yet, all of our dads' friends are there, and I'm sitting there thinking about how my dad is getting older and I'm gonna have to face this one day, etc. and I'm just barely holding it together when my friend arrives. I hadn't seen him in a couple of years, and I say a little (or alot) too cheerfully "Hey (friends name), its good to see you!" He takes it the wrong way, and snaps at me angrily in front of everyone there. Really embarrassed, and kind of ashamed that this is happening at his dad's funeral, I tried to recover, but it just wasn't getting any better, so my dad says "Let's go", Haven't seen him since, but I'm still kinda embarrassed about it. -
Just found this in an article about bullying in schools
JackARoot replied to frank's topic in The Geek Club
I'm not sure that's it, Japan's approach is similar to most of Europe. In France the parents believe its good to annoy kids to help them learn some coping skills for that ... I think I often use the French approach in this regard: Kid: Where's mom? Me: She went to sh!t and the hogs ate her. Kid: -

This I heard a really interesting interview of an author that wrote a book about different parenting styles around the world. Parents in the US tend to really over-shelter our children. For example, in Japan kids are encouraged to be kids and work things out themselves. So if they argue or even physically fight, the parents rarely get involved unless it gets out of hand. They believe this helps the kids develop better coping skills later in life. http://m.npr.org/programs/all/60/214894034 -
How far is it to the shore? Can't a weekend at the beach count as your downtime?

I also like the song, but I think its definitely cheesy enough.
