How come it's ok for black people to make comments about whites and receive no reprimands whatsoever? Whenever a white person makes any comment in poor taste they have to get fired. Imus' joke was in poor taste, but it was comedy. There was no malice intended in any way. Complete double standard.

Well, obviously those 3 teams you mentioned weren't as good as the Tigers, A's, Twins or Yankees, or else they would be in the playoffs. The Red Sox sucked this year anyway. There 2nd half record was a joke -- talk about a creampuff.

Big deal. Lots of players have hit 50+ homers in a season. This is a guy who was whinning two weeks ago about the MVP. Seems like he cared more for an individual award then how his team was playing. Great hitter obviously, but if you hit 50 homers in a season but your team misses the pllayoffs, does anyone care?

It's a shame that injuries derailed his career. He was clearly the best all around player in the game when he was traded to the Reds. He still has that picture perfect swing but his lower body has betrayed him over the last 5+ years. Griffey's numbers are all legit too.
