The team winning the coin toss gets the choice of playing offense and taking the ball on their own 15 yard line or they can choose to play defense and put the other team on the 15 yard line. -This eliminates kicking the ball off to start overtime but who really would care about that. -sudden death still applies -this gives coaches something to think about i.e. field position -makes for great monday morning quarterbacking OK, now tell me why this rule change is a stupid idea, I could be missing something.

I think the idea of a game ending with a score is what the NFL is looking for....especially in overtime.

I have a seminar of sorts tomorrow with some friends. We're thinking about trying to sell ads for this upstart dot com company...localadlink.com. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this. I did some research on the web about this company with very mixed reviews. It seems some people are having success selling ads and are being well compensated with 50% commission. Then their are others who are saying this has scam written all over it, though it doesn't sound like this company is out to scam people, to me, it just seems their business model is very questionable. Also, the co-founder McNulty(I think is his name) is capable of making this company millions or going bankrupt, he's def a loose cannon. Anyways, just looking for some input. To me, this has scam written all over it. However, a couple of my friends seem to be very excited about this opportunity. Any thoughts???

I just hope the so called brain-trust that runs my team are smarter than I am and know what they are doing. Problem is.....my team is the Cowboys. I'm sure that I'm in the minority, but I hope they get a QB in the 2nd or 3rd round to light a fire under Romo's butt. He's starting to scare me, especially in big games.

Just so you know, Rivers had more passing yards....more TD's.....higher QB rating....oh and less INT's than Manning. I'm not saying Rivers should be the MVP but I think it's obvious that it was a popularity vote this year and whoever votes for these awards don't have a clue. Manning should not have been the MVP...period! He does have great commericials, though.

Clash, you may have started this too late but I'm in. Panthers over Steelers in the SB QB Warner RB LT2 RB Westy WR Deshaun Jax WR BOLDin WR Fitz TE Fasano K Akers DE ATL Good luck with your Titans. -
I've said for a long time that you can't predict injuries, but I agree with you that Warner won't last the entire game. Everytime he gets hit it seems like he gets up very slowly and he'll be seeing a lot of pressure this game. If he doesn't get sacked he'll get knocked down for sure. This is a good week to bench Warner. IMHO.

you took the words right of my mouth

It could be that his best coaching job was the year he got a hapless Browns team into the playoffs. A coach's win/loss record isn't always the barometer that should be used in determining how good a coach is. Oh yeah, and Brady would probably be a third string QB for some other hapless team out their if it weren't for BB drafting him .....think about it!!

this topic would've been helpful week 1.

bump... more info on LJ would be great, can't find much on my own other than he may get suspended another 4 games. This came from some meatball's posting on LJ's profile on sportsline. I was thinking this was a possibility even before I read that.

Brad Johnson and Tony "I hurt my pinkie" Romo will combine to pass for 5,000 yards. Somebody had to say it!!
-
That statement is a fact and there is no getting around it. All his life he's been told how wonderful he is and getting boo'd for probably the first time in his life is completely foreign to him and he has no clue how to handle it. Mentally, he has no idea how to "man-up". Mambokings, it's hard to shed tears for someone who decides they no longer enjoy the game especially after they just pocketed millions of $$$. This whole thing sounds like Vince Young got his feelings hurt and now he's gonna take his ball and go home.

Norm Chow must be grinning ear to ear at this news.

His natural position....where were you guys on this???

Your own rankings will always be better than anyone else. Trust me. If you don't believe me then go with this site. Very good rankings here.

Selvin Young until he loses his first fumble, then I would go with Smith

If their isn't a VIG, or house takeout, or para-mutuel percentage taken out of the money pool then it is not gambling. However, if you play against people who are smarter than you and know more about football/fantasy football then luck becomes more of a factor, then yes, it is gambling. I would guess that 75% of the posters on this bored are gambling their money away on FF thinking they have an equal chance of winning their league as the next guy. Simply not true.

I tend to agree with you, however, if Brady gets 35 or more td's in this particular league, I'll be more than happy. As for Westbrook, I just don't like him at #2. I think he'll bounce this year, he had his best year last year and I don't like taking players after career years (unless their name is Tomlinson, Brady, Manning or Moss ...etc). Also, he's 29 yrs old and has never played 16 games in a season. As for ADP, I'm sorry, I have to see it again. The league knows who he is now and I doubt that he'll play 16 games either. I agree that my current rb's could be miserable, but I think Lenwhale will surprise this year and hope one of the other three pans out. I guess we'll see in a couple of months. Hope you're wrong, though.

2nd overall pick, 12 teams 1. tom brady---a good qb is essential in this league, and have my doubts about AP and westbrook 2. andre johnson---he's a top receiver if he stays healthy now that he has a qb that can throw 3. marques colston---liked him better than the rb's that were left 4. selvin young---should be good up until his first fumble, then we'll find out about the other denver rb's 5. kevin smith---the detroit offense has to explode one of these years 6. lendale white---could be a steal behind that offensive line 7. ricky williams---risk/reward, as are all my rb's.
-
1. Team "A" stinks and will always be losing late in the game thus they have to throw the ball more resulting in more FF points. --->Just about the dumbest thing I hear every year. The top FF qb's are generally on playoff caliber teams, but if you want to take a stab at Brodie Croyle because the Chiefs are awful....go ahead. 2. Don't draft "so and so" because he always gets hurt. ---> Nobody and I mean nobody can predict injuries. With that said, I'm staying away from Brett Favre this year because Jet qb's always get hurt. Count on it. 3. He's a rookie, he hasn't learned the offense, he has no track record, therefore, stay away...he won't perform. ---> Most people already know this, rookies(esp rb's) that are on good offensive teams will do just fine, sometimes better than fine. An exception in rare cases may be the wide receiver position, when some of these guys are actually asked to "think" for the first time in their lives. Also, the occasional rb who can't block. That's all I can come with right now, agree or disagree?????? Don't really give a flying......!!
-
Ain't no way that's a myth.

Don't really give a flying .... bird to others, just trying to spark a little debate. That's where I was going with that. To quote one of favorite my movie lines..."assumption is the mother of all ______-ups"
