    When do you start drafting?

The Sunday of Labor Day Weekend after all preseason games are over. Works well for our league. All owners in our league have no life outside of fantasy football.

CBS Sports, ESPN & Yahoo! Your opinions.

Agree! We've been with CBS for 14 years and now switching to MFL. We're very customized league -- scoring, head-to-head doubleheaders customized schedule, blind bid waivers. Nothing that free site could handle. Appears MFL will handle well. Years ago when we looked at MFL, it was lacking in security area whereby commissioner could view pending waiver claims of all owners. Now they have the feature to turn off commissioner access to the owner's menus. MFL just seems to keep enhancing their site while CBS keeps going backwards. Plus MFL will give you 50% off this year for coming over from CBS. Good deal. We're going to at least give it a try this year. The "new look" CBS site isn't an improvement IMO and now they took away the CBS message boards too.

Has anyone seen CBS's website?! **PUKE***

After 14 years with CBS, we decided to switch to MFL this year -- even before the "new look" CBS site came out the other day. Now very glad we decided to make the switch. CBS keeps changing all their looks but can't seem to accommodate requests to add features such as Blind Bid Waivers followed by first-come first-served free agents. Asked for that for years and I know other leagues did as well. They just ignore the requests. Instead they keep taking features away like the fantasy message boards this year. Guess they didn't like seeing complaints on their own message boards. That's OK -- we can still complain about CBS here. I suspect CBS must be losing quite a bit of money on their fantasy sports sites and will keep going downhill as they lay off staff.

    CBS Fantasy Issues, AGAIN

Excellent suggestion. This is the way we set it up and it works fine.

    Commish Question

Then why is your rule to wait 48 hours? I'd suggest next year you change it to 24 hours. And leave this trade process under the 48-hour rule that you've established for this year, meaning it won't process until Week 11 games. The parties involved knew the rules when they made the trade.

Swirvenirvin is correct -- Greene left with head injury.

    Commish Question

For the good of the league by preventing a freebie pickup for another team, I would restore Boldin to his roster and trust that it was an honest mistake on his part. Just remember it then becomes a precedent for future drop mistakes though.

    Mark clayton or Damian Williams

Given Williams' 11 targets last week, I would take him over Clayton. StL offense is a mess and Clayton is coming off a very serious injury. I still think it's going to take a lot of time for Clayton to get back to last year's form.

2 Fantasy Games per week instead of 1

I was just thinking from the perspective if you had a big week but faced the top-scoring H2H opponent, at least by having a doubleheader, you'd likely come out 1-1 for the week instead of 0-1. Or on the other end where you had a terrible week but were fortunate enough to go H2H against the lowest scoring opponent in the league, then 1-1 is at least a better reflection (as far as the league standings are concerned) of your performance than 1-0. I just think the more doubleheader games you have, the more "accurate" your league standings will be in determining the division winners/playoff teams.
  12. Peanut33

2 Fantasy Games per week instead of 1

Why do you say that? What's wrong with using the same lineup against two H2H opponents?
  13. Peanut33

2 Fantasy Games per week instead of 1

We use CBS and have 15-team, 3 division setup with regular season lasting 13 weeks. During those 13 weeks, each team ends up with 5 doubleheaders staggered throughout the season so that the regular season is 18 games head-to-head. By having 18 games, each team can then play the 4 teams in their own division twice and all teams outside its division once. Works great. Even adding just the 5 extra games improves the problem you mentioned with just playing 1 game per week.

    Who uses " myfantasyleague.com"

It's been about 4 years since I last looked at MFL. At the time the customization was great, but then I came across one problem -- as Commissioner, I was able to view all the other teams' queued up waiver picks and knew that wasn't going to fly with the rest of the league. And MFL said at the time that's just how it works -- commissioner has access to pretty much everything so that they can do anything for any team if they need to. So then never did switch to MFL. Don't know if they've locked down some of those commissioner functions yet nor not.

    Blount drags Troy Polamalu

I agree with Matt Mueller above. I like TB's easy schedule. Would rather have Blount than Torain given Redskins' schedule.

    15 to 16 Team League

A 15-team league works well if you're able to schedule a few doubleheaders for each team (we do CBS and it works fine for DH's). 15-team league, 5 teams in 3 divisions. Play 18-game regular season schedule over 13-week season (so each team gets 5 doubleheaders). So you play the 4 teams in your own division twice (total 8 games) and everyone outside of your division once (total 10 games). 6 teams go to playoffs -- 3 division winners and 3 wildcards with the top 2 division winners getting a bye in Week 14 Round 1. We tried 16 teams one year but that one extra team diluted the QB position more than you'd think it would especially when you have to cover your bye week QB.
  17. Peanut33

    Fantasy ethics

We had the same problem years ago. Since then, we've established a monetary fine for each time a team starts a BYE week player. Haven't had a problem since we put that in.
  18. Peanut33

    McGahee

Any word on McGahee? I see he was in the stats for two consecutive plays in the 2nd quarter and nothing since. Did he get hurt or just not playing for some reason?
  19. Peanut33

    Why I don't like 12 team leagues

I agree, the bigger the better; however, once you get beyond 16 teams, how do you guys handle bye week replacements for QB, DST, K, etc.? That's primarily why we've never gone beyond 16 teams.
  20. Peanut33

    FFL Commish Question ?

Have you ever considered having doubleheaders which would avoid bye weeks? You could have 3 divisions of 5 teams each and an 18-game schedule over 13 weeks. So each team gets 5 doubleheaders over the 13-week regular season. Play teams in your own division twice (8 games) and everyone else once (10 games). It's a lot more fun than bye weeks.

    Trade not finalized!

That's why we went to a 1-day voting process. We have trades that were accepted before midnight on 11/5 and the trade voting process date says 11/6 on those right now. Normally, those trades would then process early Friday morning 11/7 around 1 AM. But like I say, because of Torain involved and having played prior to that time, it will not process until next week. If you have a 2-day voting process, it is AT LEAST 48 hours (48 HOURS plus the time until CBS normally runs waivers which is around 1 or 2 AM). Whether you accepted your trade at 1 PM Tuesday vs. just before midnight Wed does not matter -- it will still hang until 11/6 and process early morning 11/7. That is, CBS always processes trades only once per day, right before they run the waivers. Hope that additional info helps! I'm certain you're gonna have to try another route to pick up a WR for week 10 like you say.

    Trade not finalized!

Actually one thing to be cautious about because of your 11/7 trade deadline -- I would play it safe and have your Commish temporarily extend the trade deadline until next Wed knowing that the sole purpose is to make sure your trade does get processed. If there is a trade in process past the trade deadline, CBS may possibly just drop the transaction altogether. I'm sure the intent of your trade deadline was to just make sure trades are accepted by that date and if so, those still get through. Commish can let rest of league know that there are no more trades allowed -- that the deadline is just temporary to make certain CBS processes that trade next Tuesday night.
  24. Peanut33

    Trade not finalized!

I'm sure it's because Torain locked on the roster last night before the voting process was over because Denver played last night. The trade voting process is over but the trade will not process until next Tuesday (week 11) because of the game last night. The other trade went through because those players do not lock for Week 10 until Sunday's games. Don't fret -- you'll still get Camarillo next week! Good deal!!
  25. Peanut33

CBS Commishes please help a brutha out

Stiles is correct. All players (except for those who got dropped at time waivers ran Tuesday night) become free agents immediately after waivers run Tuesday night (usually around 2 AM ET Wed morning). If you want a 3-day wait for players dropped, just set to run your waivers Tuesday night and Friday night and you will be good to go! But when you're ready to start the waiver process for the season, make sure you have started waivers. As commissioner with commissioner access rights, go to the My Team/Add-Drop page. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the Start Waivers link to start the process. Once waivers are "started" it will take at least 48 hours for the first waiver run to occur. For example, if you want the first waiver to run next Tuesday night, start your waivers sometime this Sunday. After the process has started your normal waiver will be followed.
