GrizTiger 0 Posted July 30, 2002 my league has 12 teams. scoring system is 6 pts for all TDs, 1pt for every 25 yds passing, 1pt for every 10 yds rushing and receiving. 5 bounus pts for 300 yds passing and 100 yds rushing and receiving. I have the #8 and #17 picks. Is a top 3 QB and top 3 WR better than 2 #6-11 RBs?
Qflash 0 Posted July 30, 2002 if all TD's are worth 6pts. than i'd grab a QB in first to second round (top 3) Q
Mike MacGregor 20 Posted July 30, 2002 This is more personal preference than anything. No matter what the Compiler/VBD spits out, even if they use those principles, a lot of people will take RBs no matter what. For that reason, you can get good value going QB/WR with those picks, especially at 6 pts per pass TD. I'm pretty flexible going RB or QB/WR in first round, having used both draft strategies numerous times with various degrees of success. Your ultimate decision will of course depend on who is available. Sometimes other drafters will surprise you and a guy slips you weren't expecting to be available. I guess my biggest piece of advice is don't go into a draft sold on drafting certain positions in the 1st round, 2nd round, etc. Think in advance about how different possible draft scenarios could play out, weigh the pros and cons, and be flexible/ready to react in your actual draft.
