badmonkey 0 Posted July 26, 2006 With Reggie Bush threatening a year long hold out, do you feel this puts Deuce as a top 7-8 RB now? Even coming off an injury he should be a stud and doesn't have anyone looking over his shoulder.
roroco 75 Posted July 26, 2006 These are contract shinanigans... He may hold out for a bit (preseason and maybe one more game)... but he will play this year. If he doesn't than he will be committing NFL career suicide. Even worse than Lienart staying back another year. This is all agent "money" speak....not a news story at this time. MCcallister shouldn't be considered a top 7-8 back even if Bush weren't in the mix. He's a RB coming off a major knee injury and he'll be slow to get back to speed. mgs316 14 Posted July 26, 2006 McAllister's motivation coming off his knee surgery is that Edge almost got 1000 yards after his knee surgery and Jamal Lewis had 1300. I think McAllister could be a sneaky 3rd runningback if this hold out continues, and even if it doesn't. That being said, can't know anything until preseason. illest 0 Posted July 26, 2006 high profile picks hold out EVERY year. hes not going to sit out a whole year, not even a game. this happens every pissn' year, its just contract negotiation talk... not news, not even a little bit.

Look at what the holdout of Benson did for Thomas Jones last year though. Not that this situation is exactly the same due to the Duece injury but I can see Duece puting up good numbers none the less. The only thing that scares me a bit would be his motivation considering he just signed a pretty large contract and now knows that sooner or later (probably sooner) Bush is gonna be the guy. De Novo 0 Posted July 26, 2006 I doubt Bush sits out. Even if he does, Deuce is at best a #2 RB. I'd expect no more than 1100 yards and 10 TDs. The O-line is putrid.
