Creepin'Camel-Toe 0 Posted December 7, 2006 I've seen a couple of ideas drafting this way. Basically, the first 2 rounds are regular serpentine. The 3 round goes back to the #12 drafter (they pick #25 overall) and the serpentine is reversed for 2 rounds (#1 picks 36 and 37 overall). the 5th round goes back to serpentine with the #1 picking #49 pick. Again; Round 1 = #1 thru #12 Round 2 = #12 thru #1 Round 3 = #12 thru #1 Round 4 = #1 thru #12 Round 5 = #1 thru #12 Round 6 = #12 thru #1 etc. What do you think? Watchdog 0 Posted December 7, 2006 Interesting. The 12th team will traditionally get picks 12, 13, 36, 37. In your system, he gets picks 12, 13, 25, 48. Is getting a third pick in the top 25 worth having to wait 23 picks - and then not getting "bookend" picks? I think I'd lean toward the traditional serpentine if I was last to pick, but I could see why others would prefer the reverse serpentine.

I guess it would depend on one's opinion of the drop off from pick #37 to pick #48 I this years draft our league: #37 was R. Wayne #48 was A. Johnson. In our PPR league Johnson is actually just edging out Wayne.
swirvenirvin 25 Posted December 7, 2006 Interesting but it could be horrible for lets just say the #4 team As you missed out on the "big 3" this year. That 4th slot using the draft would really suck

He's not bad just not a #3-#4 pick anymore
gobuckeyes 0 Posted December 7, 2006 Those "big three" really turned out to be a big 2. Unless Shaun comes back very strong next year (and his age says that's suspect) the dropoff is still going to be the 2,3 picks. However, outside of them there are only about 3-4 other backs that I would say are very safe bets to be studs: SA, SJax, Portis, RBrown, maybe Westbrook ignoring his knee. If you get a pick in the bottom half of round one, you are basicly playing RB roulette. Look at the backs that went there this year, Caddy, Jordan, McGahee, James. Someone should do an analysis of past years fantasy drafts to determine relative value of each pick. I suspect that the reverse serpentine is actually more fair.
