Best hot dogs in the world?

Recommended Posts

I submit that Nathan's hot dogs are the best in the world. I'm also a big fan of their little fry wedges with the fork.

Why aren't there more of these fast food joints? I could eat there once a week.

Best store bought hot dogs - Hormel Wranglers. Longer with a natural casing. Real dogs gotta snap. :(

But, for my money, if we're talking about snausage on a bun - Italian. Hands Down the best.

No condiments, just a great flavored snausage.

There isn't even a question - Chicago hot dogs kick any other hot dogs asses. In fact, I think I'm going to go to Portillo's for lunch now, most likely the best hot dog place on the planet.

As for store bought - Vienna Beef, there is no other. Best Kosher are ok dogs, but absolutely nothing beats Vienna.

I submit that you're an idiot if you think any hot dog place that isn't in Chicago is the best in the world.

Maybe if you don't live in the only area where you can get Viennas at the store.

I've never been to Chicago. And by "hot dog joint" I don't mean your favorite public bathroom gloryhole, Sally.

Never really got why Chicagoans got off on their particular type of dog. It's not a dog - it's a friggin salad. A dog is supposed to be a one-handed meal heavy on the sausage. Nothing like trying to shove a quarter of a tomato, a pickle spear, 25 whole 'sport' peppers - and oh, yeah - a hotdog - Into your mouf.

The taste isn't bad, but good focking lord, its a pain in the axx.

If it's not a turkey hot dog, it sucks.

It is a tip.

I eat my dogs plain, so the taste of the dog itself is important. Nothing beats Vienna beef, there is simply no hot dog on the planet that compares. But you can still even destroy a Vienna dog if it's not cooked properly.

Absolutely no one can beat a Vienna beef hot dog prepared by Portillo's. Few can compete, even in Chicago. I won't even eat a hot dog at any of the stands by my house, because I work across the street from Portillo's. Anyone I know that has moved away from Chicago can't pass through here without stopping at Portillo's. They are that good.

If you think that there is a place by you that can beat them, you are wrong. No matter what you like on top of the thing.

Also, beef hotdogs are for queers.

I'm fairly certain there is. Rochester is hot dog country, but of course, we're a smaller city and not as well known as Chicago. Rochester is known for local hot dog joints all over the city that cook up Zweigles red and white hots. They are fantastic. Topped with mustard, onions and Rochester's version of a meat based hot sauce. Nothing better.

At no point did I claim to eat soy hot dogs. At one point in time, I used to eat turkey hot dogs. But not in the last couple of years.

At this point, you're queer and have a learning disability. Wanna try for a third characteristic?

Thanks for pointing that out, Mr. Queer, Learning Disabled, and Anal Retentive. :dunno:

Not sure what they put in the red hot, but the white hot apparantly contains pork. Sorry, that's not a hot dog.

No dog containing pork beats this:
