jdon 28 Posted July 1, 2007 First there is the 20 ypc last year, then there is meachum's soft ass, through in the possibility that colston was a one year wonder (even if he isn't he will comand attention), and I see Devery pushing 1000 yards and 8-10 touchdowns being drafted a lot later... I think he is the sleeper of this years draft. jdon

LSUtiger 9 Posted July 1, 2007 From a Saints homer who follows the off-season very closely, a few things... 1. From all reports this offseason, Colston is definitely the MAN and has asserted himself as so. He's looked great through minicamp and everyone is saying he's been a total steal because of his drive and work ethic to be the number one guy this year. Looks like the Saints nabbed the next Donald Driver (former 7th rounder). Don't believe all the 'bust' predictions for Colston this year, I see no way his production falls unless for injury reasons. 2. No one can predict where Meachum will be slotted in the lineup because he hasn't been on the field long enough to gauge it. Something one local source mentioned was the coaches thought it looked like he had never received any coaching before - go figure, talking about a UT wide receiver. He could very well be the starter on opening day but he certainly has an uphill battle in front of him with Colston, Patten, Henderson and even Copper playing well right now. 3. David Patten is the forgotten man and word is, HE'S been tearing it up out there and would be the number two receiver across from Colston if they played a game tomorrow. 4. On to Devery, he led the league in yards per catch last season. He'll be a free agent after next year (I believe) and don't think many teams aren't eyeing his big play potential. In other words, this is his 'money year' - he'll either blow it up and the Saints will retain him or they'll let him go because he'll demand too much money. He is the main deep threat on the Saints (Colston is a midrange, possession type) and has all the ability to become a great playmaker in the NFL but just lacks one thing...consistency. If you can live with his up and downs, he can make a great WR2 and a super WR3.
Raider 84 29 Posted July 1, 2007 Henderson has great value, especially where he is being drafted on average. I won't hesitate to roll the dice on him.
CrazyStanley 0 Posted July 1, 2007 i really like this guy going into the year. i think he could do very well, i could see him getting around 900 yds and 7 tds. teams will be trying to stop bush, mcallister and colston, and henderson should do well. dont worry about the injured rook or patten, henderson should do well, to bad this got brought up, he has sleeper all over him
Dagger 0 Posted July 1, 2007 Hard to tell who has worse hands, him or Troy Williamson.
nlgb1 0 Posted July 2, 2007 Hard to tell who has worse hands, him or Troy Williamson. twill has possibly the worst hands since koren robinson worst hands of all time = shawn jefferson...formerly of the patriots/falcons
jocstrap 8 Posted July 2, 2007 I can see many play actions to Mcallister and Bush only to get Henderson 1 on 1 with the corner and the safety biting. I'm on board for 1k receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. Perfect for a #3 receiver on Strapper's team
nygiants 0 Posted July 2, 2007 I had Henderson last year and liked what I got from him. However, I call most of his points "lucky". First off, he was the #4 WR last year behind Colston, Horn, and Copper (yes...Copper). With Horn gone that still makes him #3 and he will be used mostly in the slot. Basically, he was thrown at 2-3 times per game on the deep post last year and that's it. I call it luck because he usually caught one of them for a big gain or TD (bonus points for long TD's were a help). But in the games where they didn't connect on 1 of those long bombs he ended up with zero points. For a #3 fantasy WR you want someone who is targeted more than 2-3 times per game. I like Henderson but only as a bye week filler.

He's easily the 2nd best receiver on the Saints. Sky's the limit in 2007 and beyond. Drafted him in the 10th round in 2007 $$ league.
The Next Generation 10 Posted July 2, 2007 Weren't the Saints looking to dump Henderson when they drafted Meacham, only to keep him around since Meacham's been hurt? I could've sworn I read something to that effect after the draft.
The Moz 69 Posted July 2, 2007 Meacham is the starter it won't be Henderson for long. I watch alot of SEC College ball and meacham is really talented and will shine if not this season definitley next. But NO coach isn't shy about starting Rookies so I think Meacham has more FF impact this year than any WR on NO not named Colston !
Gepetto 1,192 Posted July 2, 2007 Saint coaches recently commented that they can't tell if Meachum has ever been coached.
RicemanX 20 Posted July 2, 2007 I definitely see him as a peerless price of 2003. He will have a good year. #2 WR numbers.
