I started a thread over at Livewire to welcome any of those guys who wanted to partake on Thursday and it was deleted within five minutes.

 

Not locked, mind you, but deleted. Gone. Poof.

It was fine at FootballGuys and the Danzone. :shrug:

Believe it or not, some folks left here because they claimed you couldn't post anything without a bunch of insulting replies being thrown back at you. Let's try to let them know it's going to be very civil that day.

FYI, Asia has reformed, with all its original members, for a new album release this spring. It's called "Phoenix" and it's the first Asia album with John Wetton on vocals, since the 80's.

It's looking more and more like this is going to be a daytime get-together. I guess that I hadn't thought of that, as I have one of those jobs that requires me to actually work.

The way I'm seeing it, Thursday can go a few different ways.

 

1. It could be a total bust. A few old-timers could stop by to check-in, but not stick around and it could end up being pretty-much like this thread is.

 

2. It may just be slightly more active than the average day and kind of come-and-go without any excitement to speak of.

 

3. It could be a disaster. Some of the guys who left here because they hated the place or thought it was under-moderated, may come back just to hijack the entire day and be total dooshbags. It could just turn into a flame-war, with some of the old-timers pounding their chests blaming the board's demise on the new guys.

 

4. It could be awesome. We may hear from some members we forgot all about, or legendary ones who haven't been around. There could be loads of great threads and a lot of 'catching up'.

 

5. It could start well and end up taxing the server and cause a board crash. Talk about anti-climatic.

 

 

I guess only time will tell. Let's hope for number four. Judging by some of the returnees who've popped up in this thread, it seems like word is getting out. That's a good sign. If people have good thread ideas, save them for Thursday. Nothing will suck more than having a bunch of the old guys stop in and leave in five minutes because the best thread on page one is GFIAFP quoting a line from "Take The Money and Run".
