I have to go with Ted Knight on this one followed closely by Rodney Dangerfield. Those two really worked off each other for some of the funniest moments in the movie...........IMO! "Well, we're waiting!" :pointstosky:

Okay, at least honorable mention because just thinking of it is making me chuckle on a really bad day:

Doctor Beeper (excellent name) when he electrocutes (lol'ing as I type) himself with his beeper. (laughing uncontrollably now)

"NGAAAAYAYAYAYAAAAAAYAAA" :pointstosky:

Okay, thinking objectively now:

I voted for Rodney. On a straight line for line basis, he completely blows away the rest.

You're a lot of woman, you know that? Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

Not to pick the nits, but I would certainly argue that Chevy Chase's best career performance was in Fletch. More funny lines, lead character, more characters.

Though, he was excellent for the role in Caddyshack. Perfect casting all around.

yeah...i can see your point with Fletch. I think less of Chase is more however. Now if you try to tell me Ted Knight's role on Too Close For Comfort was his best work, then we are gonna have issues.

To me, it's the perfect movie. Perfect casting, great script, has held up over time, an enormous selection of quotable lines, and is funny as hell.

Greatest. Movie. Evah.

Loved Fletch: 'Scuse me, my car just hit a water buffalo.

As for Ted Knight:

No, but I'm quite fond of his work on SuperFriends. "Meanwhile, back at City Hall..."

There is no wrong answer among the four. I was torn on who my favorite was, but I had to go with Ted Knight. His facial expressions were priceless.

"Oh Dr. Beeper, Bishop Pickering this is my niece Lacey Underall. Lacey's mother sent her to us for...the summer."

"Must be a nice change from dreary old Manhattan. "

"Yes. I was really getting tired of having fun all the time."

Lacey Underall

Just saw this for the first time last week! Definitely Al Czervik was the funniest character.

"tell the cook this is low grade dog food. I've had better food at the ballgame, you know? This steak still has marks from where the jockey was hitting it."

"He called me a baboon, he thinks I'm his wife. "

"Hey, you scratched my anchor!"

seriously, his vote shouldn't even count if that's true.

WTF are you talking about? I've got fresh perspective! :shocking:

Also, I like the "if that's true" part, as if I would have made that up.

:shocking: I've never seen The Deer Hunter in its entirety. Bits and pieces here and there but never sat down and watched the whole thing.

We've all got a movie or two like that (I think?)

I'm the same way with the DeerHunter, but c'mon, this is CADDYSHACK we're talking about here.

I think the closest I have is never having watched Office Space all at once.

meh..not missing too much....pretty overrated. Had some funny parts, but lord people passed this off like it was Citizen Kane of comedies. To me its right up there with Wedding Crashers and Theres Something About Mary in that regard...ok but not classics by any stretch.

Where do you work? I take it you're not a software guy. Office Space is the Dilbert of movies. One of the best comedies of the last 10 years and definitely above Wedding Crashers.
