He Like Me 0 Posted March 12, 2008 I have to go with Ted Knight on this one followed closely by Rodney Dangerfield. Those two really worked off each other for some of the funniest moments in the movie...........IMO! "Well, we're waiting!"
surferskin 30 Posted March 12, 2008 it's ted knight and it's not even close. "i've sent boys younger than you to the gas chamber...didn't want to do it...but i felt i owed it to them."
patweisers44 814 Posted March 12, 2008 all four of the choices above had their best career performances in caddyshack, dangerfields character was the best. And this comes from a guy whos email address is carlspackler@yahoo.com

wiffleball 4,788 Posted March 12, 2008 Okay, at least honorable mention because just thinking of it is making me chuckle on a really bad day: Doctor Beeper (excellent name) when he electrocutes (lol'ing as I type) himself with his beeper. wiffleball 4,788 Posted March 12, 2008 Okay, thinking objectively now: I voted for Rodney. On a straight line for line basis, he completely blows away the rest. You're a lot of woman, you know that? Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

And this comes from a guy whos email address is carlspackler@yahoo.com Not to pick the nits, but I would certainly argue that Chevy Chase's best career performance was in Fletch. More funny lines, lead character, more characters. Though, he was excellent for the role in Caddyshack. Perfect casting all around.

Now if you try to tell me Ted Knight's role on Too Close For Comfort was his best work, then we are gonna have issues.
wiffleball 4,788 Posted March 12, 2008 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080487/quotes Anybody who wants to laugh will enjoy this. I forgot this one from Rodney: "Hey! That Kangaroo just took my ball!" Gotta love the names too. (Lacy Underall, Al Czervik) Damn, that movie gets better every year.
phillybear 366 Posted March 12, 2008 all four of the choices above had their best career performances in caddyshack To me, it's the perfect movie. Perfect casting, great script, has held up over time, an enormous selection of quotable lines, and is funny as hell. Greatest. Movie. Evah.

As for Ted Knight: No, but I'm quite fond of his work on SuperFriends. "Meanwhile, back at City Hall..."

t.j 35 Posted March 12, 2008 Just saw this for the first time last week! Definitely Al Czervik was the funniest character. "tell the cook this is low grade dog food. I've had better food at the ballgame, you know? This steak still has marks from where the jockey was hitting it." "He called me a baboon, he thinks I'm his wife. " "Hey, you scratched my anchor!" patweisers44 814 Posted March 12, 2008 I think the closest I is never having watched Office Space all at once. meh..not missing too much....pretty overrated. Had some funny parts, but lord people passed this off like it was Citizen Kane of comedies. To me its right up there with Wedding Crashers and Theres Something About Mary in that regard...ok but not classics by any stretch.

Office Space is the Dilbert of movies. One of the best comedies of the last 10 years and definitely above Wedding Crashers.
