Live (on-line) ESPN Draft - how to turn off autodraft?

Recommended Posts

I'm doing a live ESPN on-line draft. I set the time for each pick at 120 seconds. I am the commissioner and the guys in my league are not the most tech savvy.

My understanding is that after the 120 seconds elapses, ESPN will make an autopick on that player's behalf.

If someone screws up and can't get online, and ESPN makes a terrible pick on their behalf, do I have the option to pause the draft and reverse that pick?

This is the free league.

Yes, you can pause and undo picks. You can also make picks for other people. All those options are at the bottom of the screen inside the actual draft application.

You're right about auto-pick too. If the owner doesn't make a selection within the time given, ESPN will auto-pick based on the best available player. There's also a box at the top of the screen where the owner can check and un-check the auto-pick option.

This is just my opinion though....if you're the commissioner, I would avoid making picks for other people just because ESPN makes "a terrible pick." The way auto-pick works is that it drafts the best available player in order to fill the starting lineup. So if it already took 2 RBs for a guy, it will then look for WR or QB rather than backups at RB. I'm a commissioner too and I strongly encourage every owner to be available for the live online draft. If they know they can't make it, they should pre-rank their players. Too much can go wrong with you making picks for other guys.
