alldayarbymojo 0 Posted September 10, 2008 What are your thoughts on the fantasy trend that is snowballing on us as we speak... Regardless of a good starting RB, teams are drafting another back to purposefully share the load in order to get 200 or more yards on the ground instead of 100. i.e. norwood, turner....taylor, peterson....ricky/ ronnie...selvin/ shanny's girlfriend of the week. I bet next year, the trend will be to get the best tandem in the league and start them each week in order to get the most points. instead of getting steven jackson and julius jones, you would try to draft Fast Willie and Mendenhall. Whoever doesnt get the best tandem won't be a tough enough fantasy team to compete. I will probably get drilled for this...but thoughts?

But, how is this any different than saying you have to get the best WR -QB tandem or you can't be competitive. Either way there always be one part of the tandem that will better than the other. It's always better to have Turner/Willie Parker than to have Mendenhall/ Parker.

cmh6476 918 Posted September 10, 2008 I think it just diminishes the value of the RB, and makes your top-tier WRs all that more valuable. With this in mind, I went WR/WR in my 8-man, looking to get RBs later that aren't that much less valuable then some of the guys that went earlier. So far so goo, as my team looks ike this: Romo (franchised) Parker Turner Owens Edwards Burress Gould New England Backups are: E Manning Jones-Drew, James, F Taylor, L White, Fargas S Moss, Galloway I think you always have to keep in mind trends and the current philosophies being implemented. I hate to pat myself on the back too much, but one of the things I seem to do fairly well at fantasy, is focus on the current trends and try and use them to my own advantage. sanders 0 Posted September 10, 2008 You know everyone focuses on what position to take but really that matters very little. What matters is WHO you take! Take a WR sure - if last year you took Steve Smith it was a bad move but if it was Randy Moss then good move. This year was a year to take those Big Name WRs because there are a lot of up and coming RBs - a lineup of Turner, Forte, and Chris Johnson looks as good if not better right now then a lineup of SJax, LJ, and Gore. I completely agree with the WR part. But the RB part...I don't think you'll rather have the first 3 over the second 3 after half the season.
HenryChinaski 1 Posted September 10, 2008 And.. What about when they play a good defense? I think you are completely over-thinking the situation, as Atlanta won't be playing Detroit every week and Pittsburgh won't be rolling over the Texans every week.
