TheNewGirl 1,333 Posted December 3, 2008 Oops, sorry, didn't see that tab... Sounds like something I would consider getting. I usually don't get one with such an elaborate display, but one that shows the mileage/time is good enough for me. That one does look very nice, though. And the price isn't bad either, IMO. NorthernVike 2,083 Posted December 3, 2008 Jeebus man, you live in Gods country now. Get outside and enjoy the scenery. Learn to cross country ski. You live within ten miles of some of the best trials in the world. And the workout is twice that of a treadmill
surferskin 30 Posted December 3, 2008 I'd recommend trying out a treadmill before you actually buy one. I bought cheap one at Walmart without using it first and regretted it instantly. It's probably because I'm used to the nice one's at the gym but this thing suxored. The biggest problem was that the belt positioning sucked. If you ever wanted to hold onto the handles while you walked, you were too close to the end of the belt and your feet would keep hitting the front plastic part of the machine. Not saying this will necessarily be the case with the treadmill but you'll never know until you try it.
The Moz 69 Posted December 3, 2008 Buying the wife one this Christmas. Cost about 1K - supposedly it's good - who knows I hate running I play basketball every other day for 2 hours to get my cardio in.
Hurricane Ditka 0 Posted December 4, 2008 We have an Ironman treadmill. And in 1 years time we have put 1180 miles on it between 3 of us that use it. Still works as good as the first day we got it. There is a company about 20 miles away in Yakima that I paid $40 to come do a check up on it. Solid machine. The brand itself does not get great reviews so I can't speak for everyone. But ours still works great. This is our model: Envision I just texted you a picture of it. It is a fixture in the house!

NorthernVike 2,083 Posted December 4, 2008 4 kids, 2 jobs. Can't always go outside to run so cut me some slack. No problem. Good for you and your family. But 98% of all treadmills are used more as coat racks than as exercise machines. Just say'n
TheNewGirl 1,333 Posted December 4, 2008 I love my treadmill and use it every day. I used my previous one everyday, too...I am not really an outside runner to begin with, and the convenience of it is great. It's not a clothing rack for us, never has been. I have a NordicTrack something or other, pretty nice.

You live within ten miles of some of the best trials in the world. And the workout is twice that of a treadmill With a wife and 2 little kids in the house as well as a new job, I don't have a hell of a lotta time to go out for hours cross country skiing every day. It's to focking cold @ 12 degrees to run outside and I'd love having the ability to run late in the evening when I get home or just whenever. I lift 3-4x a week in the mornings but haven't been doing any cardio. I think getting this thing so I can do cardio at night before bed will rock. Where the fock up here do you live anyway ... we need to get together for beers.

Cdub100 3,823 Posted December 4, 2008 http://treadmill-resource-center.com/content/view/23/73/ A second weak point is its warranty. As mentioned before, treadmill warranties are a good measuring tool for the quality. Although Iron man treadmills are not top of the line, they offer a below average warranty. Most will have lifetime on frame, 10 years on motor, 2 years on parts, and 1 on labour. Another weak point of Iron man Treadmills is that they are fabricated overseas. The assembly quality is sub par. However, according to treadmill doctor, founder of Keys plans to do the manufacturing in the States. This means that some parts will be imported, then assembled. mmmmm...beer 790 Posted December 4, 2008 where did you see it online for $799? The wife and I would like to get one. Masscloseouts.com Also they have it advertised on the Ebay.... that's where I bought it from so I could use Paypal. http://www.just-treadmill-reviews.com/iron...-treadmill.html The Ironman Inspire treadmill is a decent buy at $1,299, but there are better bets around at the list price. This is still a relatively new machine so I'm not sure as to its reliability in the longer term. However, it does represent the newer treadmills imported from the Far East by volume manufacturers like Keys Fitness that are offering much more for the money than was the case a few years ago. The Ironman Inspire is certainly worth checking out. http://www.amazon.com/Ironman-Inspire-Trea...d/dp/B000FHDUIM Reviews on Amazon.com.... most seem to think it's a pretty good machine. Obviously a couple didn't... but that seems to be the way for everything. http://www.treadmilltalk.com/ironman-inspire-treadmill.html These guys said price doesn't = value... but that's when the unit cost $1600.... I'll take a chance at half that price for the unit.
