throttlers 0 Posted February 20, 2009 TO looks to be starting his decline, but does he have another good couple of years? Where do you see him finishing in 2009 assuming he stays in Dallas and a healthy Romo? I think he could have something to prove this year and should rebound some. He won't be elite, but could crack the bottom of the top 10. I ahve seen him traded in a dynasty league for a 2nd round rookie pick, which seems a little low. Thoughts? piget 0 Posted February 20, 2009 I would bet on him being top 15 at least 1 more year.
NewbieJr 541 Posted February 20, 2009 Yeah, I'd say around 15 is a good guess. An inconsistant #2 WR. Two TDs one game and 40 yards and 0 TDs for two or three straight.
Jarvis Basnight 119 Posted February 20, 2009 Yeah, I'd say around 15 is a good guess. An inconsistant #2 WR. Two TDs one game and 40 yards and 0 TDs for two or three straight. He'd be huge as a #2. He had 6 games that were turds in 2008 where he had little yards and no td's. By comparison, Andre Johnson had 5 games that were turds in 2008 where he had little yards and no td's. Some have AJ as the #1 overall WR next year. If TO's the #2 WR on your team next year, you're in fantastic shape. Lots of WR's have 40 yards and 0 td's for 2/3 straight games, but most don't have 2 td games. TO at least can offer that.
Phurfur 70 Posted February 20, 2009 Knowing when to give up on a player is just as important as knowing when to pick someone up. I put TO on my caution list last year. I think TO is a poor man's #1 WR and I am sure he will be gone before I am ready to draft him.

His value will/has undoubtedly dropped and I'm not excited about taking him either but he will outscore other WR's taken ahead of him as long as he plays for the Cowboys, guaranteed. If I get him as a #2 WR next year, I couldn't be happier.

I agree, like I said he is a poor man's #1 WR, I would love him as a #2 WR but he will be gone before I draft my #2 WR. I agree with a previous post and have him as a top 15 WR this year. His end of season stats will be that of a #2, but you're right, if you have a lineup that good enough to survive all of his duds, he will win a game or two for you with his 2 TD, 130 yd-type games. Don't forget, there was a noticable decline this year and he'll be a year older in '09. The decline isn't usually steady. It's very quick. So we can't even guarantee any of those 2 TD games anymore, but past memories make us think they're possible.
mzf5c5 0 Posted February 20, 2009 I still think Owens drop off is due to the Romo injury, those 4 weeks he didn't produce hardly at all, which with Romo in there, he would have.

At the beginning of the year we were talking about how he was beating Pacman in practice 1 on 1. There was talk about how his speed is better than advertised. He'll be a year older but he's a physical freak too. He's pretty damn good after the catch and he definitely knows how to get seperation. I think his drops are getting worse. He looks like he's more scared going over the middle then he used to to me.
Joey Gladstone 33 Posted February 20, 2009 I hope he takes enough pills to get the job done right this time.
Cuse9 129 Posted February 20, 2009 Every year I draft Owens as my seventh receiver. Of course my league only has roster requirements of six receivers. I don't like him, so I stay away. Plenty of great wr's to take in his place. Normally I don't care, it's fantasy, take the best available. In his case I simply refuse.

Actually outrunning him. Feel free to go on trying to be as difficult as possible though.

I used to draft based on the person some in the past too, and got sick of losing money. Now they're all just numbers to me pre-draft. It's just business.
