P. Harvin @ DET

Recommended Posts

This is looking like a sweet matchup. I've started him for S. Smith (CAR) this week, until the team can sort out the QB situation.

I believe I am. PPR and we start 3 WR's and a flex and I have megatron, jackson, royal and avery. thinking of starting him over jackson this week with MJD and K Smith, although I have Rice and can't decide...

Percy Harvin in - - Lee Evans out

YES to answer your question :first:

I have these same two options and am having a lot harder time with it than you seem to be. Look at the way Dallas torched TB last week. I think this might be one of those Lee Evans games where the line looks like this 3 rec 126 yds 2TD's. I am in PPR as well plus we get points for return yards so Harvin is very tempting. This is tough.

WOW...you guys have some big ones....I want to start him over crotchery but I feel like NE is gonna be up very quick and Sanchez will be airing the ball out all day. On the flip side, I see Minn getting a lead quick and then running the clock out. Is Harvin even in on 60% of the plays??

Sum it up

Percy Harvin will not get that many targets because the Vikings will be up by 21 pts by halftime which means more yards for AP and Chestor Taylor.

So of course I will go against my advice and start Harvin!! :dunno:

Braylon out Harvin in

You know Braylon missed a long TD because he was pushed out of bounds, right?

Guys are feeding off eachother in this thread and getting all lathered up about Harvin.

I've got Harvin too and love his potential but I'm not ready to start him over Santana Moss this week just because he had one decent day and found the endzone. I still think he may be the #3 or #4 option for Minny right now. That may change but don't be let down if he doesn't do anything this week.

Detroit hung pretty well with NO most of the game last week and kept Brees on the field. This is a divisional matchup so the teams know eacother pretty well. This game will not be over by halftime. Hell, the Vikings were behind the Browns at halftime last week. The Lions aren't much worse than the Browns.

Good point, I still think it will be the AP show. I also think that Minn has a much better D than the siants.

Starting him over Reggie Bush and Donnie Avery, 0.5PPR league. Like what I saw last week. Dude will have alot of touches - those who are thinking of his potential based solely on catching passes are missing it here. He'll get RB looks and will return kicks. Get him in your lineups.

I have Vincent Jackson vs Ravens and TJ Housh injured.

Do I start Harvin over these two vs Detroit?

maybe some GB homers can step in here, but if I remember right Favre has like a career 60something passer rating in domes.

it may be just in Minny, but could be Det too.

I wouldn't be so sure. Fav-re has a mancrush on this guy. Shiancoe and Harvin both outperform their ADPs this year. Berrian if anyone is probably the guy who ends up short of his.

A BIG YES! Starting Percy Harvin at the flex. I like to gamble. Harvin might not be in for many plays, but I am just looking for that one big play. I am benching Kevin Smith and Justin Gage for Harvin. :headbanger:

I wish I COULD in one league!

I'm starting Megatron, Rhoddy, Ocho, and BERRIAN (can start 3 with a flex)

And none of them warrant a Harvin plug in - Berrian is coming back strong this week hopefully and Favre is going to love using his deep threat!

Boston, I am wavering with Harvin over Ocho. You say no way, Ocho over Harvin.

Why?

****

Just to to chime in here, the Lions did almost nothing offensively against the Saints.

They had:

- a TD return on a gimme fumble

- 2 long kick returns that put the ball inside the Saints' 10-20 yard line, twice

- a long broken play when a rookie CB came in for his very first NFL play ever against who else but Calvin johnson who took it inside the 5 yard line or so.

Sooooo, while Stafford looked pretty good to me he still had 3 INT's, and Kevin Smith had 20 yards rushing.

Not that it matters but if you're factoring in the Lions' offense's performance vs the Saints to see how they will do vs. the Vikes you should know all that.

I like Harvin in this game even if it's all ADP.

Maybe the Lions' D will stiffen up over last week and due to Schwartz, but their CB's were awful in the Saints game. I think they get a starter back this week but the team as a whole doesn't seem to have the kind of speed necessary to keep up with a guy lik Harvin, he could break a big play.

I own Harvin and Steve Smith (CAR), but I just can't bring myself to sit 89 just yet. All the more power to you if you feel confident in doing so.

If you own Steve Smith, you must have (like me) spent a fairly high draft pick to get him. Seems a little premature to pull him after 1 game.

Yes, the QB situation is shaky there, but Smith was targeted 13 times last Sunday. That's -3 attempts from being the top target in the league. If they keep going to him, he's eventually going to exploit those opportunities. Especially if Carolina keeps this game close and run more effectively - which I expect they will.

I'm in the same boat as you. I have changed my line up 6 focking times.

I'm going to stick with Smith too.

Yes. Detroit is just pathetic and the Vikes want to see what Harvin can really do. And I have to take issue with the notion that the Lions aren;t much worse than the Browns. Until they prove otherwise on the field, the Lions are much worse than anybody.
