Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted September 25, 2009 Tony Dorsett has as much room to speak about Tony Romo as I do about him. Dorsett is in the HOF. I saw that one soccer goal from you on Youtube and I have seen you play golf. I have concerns as to whether you can walk and chew gum at the same time. Tony_Romo_Domination 0 Posted September 25, 2009 fixed Voted in the top 10 cowboys of all time. Not easy to be in that group.
enis_44 0 Posted September 25, 2009 I remember him being just Ok on the original Tecmo Bowl. (the one with 4 plays only). I think he was on denver by then. He was no Bo Jackson.
Tony_Romo_Domination 0 Posted September 25, 2009 fixed Here you go ed Dorsett is in the HOF, in the Cowboy's Ring of Honor (ours means something and is hard to get into and original unlike the copy ROH in other teams), and he is a Superbowl champion. he was the 1976 Heisman Trophy Winner Might want to show some respect for a HOFer with a Ring. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yZaJsH6aXs
Cruzer 1,994 Posted September 25, 2009 watched pretty much every game of tony d's career. he was great - but holy cow did he fumble more than anybody inside the 10!
edjr 6,305 Posted September 25, 2009 he was the 1976 Heisman Trophy Winner this is just too easy. 1989 Ware, Andre1990 Detmer, Ty 1992 Torretta, Gino 1993 Ward, Charlie 1994 Salaam, Rashaan 1996 Wuerffel, Danny 1999 Dayne, Ron 2000 Weinke, Chris 2001 Crouch, Eric 2003 White, Jason 2004 Leinart, Matt 2005 Bush, Reggie 2006 Smith, Troy Winning the heisman really gives you credibility to speak. Tony_Romo_Domination 0 Posted September 25, 2009 this is just too easy. Winning the heisman really gives you credibility to speak. It shows that Dorsett dominated College Football as well as the NFL. The losers you listed dominated College but sucked in the NFL.

And I believe that's total fumbles, not necessarily fumbles lost. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/D/DorsTo00.htm

Those appear to be total fumbles recovered, including his own. Most people today focus on fumbles lost and not recovered. He had 13 receiving TD's. I think that Ed is talking about rushing TD's, so that it makes his argument better. With a crappy argument, that ain't easy, so you have to give him some latitude. SaintsInDome2006 211 Posted September 25, 2009 Seattle was originally the team with the draft rights to Dorsett. And they traded it away for a bag of donuts, some guard named Steve August. Always wondered how he would have turned out with those expansion Hawks, likely not the same. And then there was the time he told everyone to pronounce his name differently, more frenchified.... Dor SETT. Yeah.

Cuse9 129 Posted September 25, 2009 this is just too easy. Winning the heisman really gives you credibility to speak. You see when Dorsett won the Heisman it was a legit award. You mentioned the winners of the past, but for some reason left some out?! You quit right at Barry Sanders and Tim Brown (HOF and soon to be) He won in 76 right before Earl Campbell (HOF) then Sims and George Rogers won (both Rookie of the Year) then a guy named Marcus Allen won (HOF). In 1982 Hershel Walker won, he never lived up to his potential, but he was pretty good. Bo Jackson was soon after. Other winners: Roger Staubach, OJ Simpson, Paul Hornung..... Winning the Heisman doesn't mean you will be a great pro (Pat Sullivan), but it certainly wasn't a joke back then like it is now. Now it's simply a popularity contest. As for the fumbles: Walter Payton: 86 fumbles in 190 games = .452 Fumbles per game Emmitt Smith: 61 fumbles in 206 games = .296 fpg Barry Sanders: 41 fumbles in 153 games = .267 fpg Jim Brown: 57 fumbles in 118 games = .438 fpg Tony Dorsett: 90 fumbles in 173 games = .520 fpg Comparing Dorsett's fumbles to other greats, yep, he sucked at holding the ball. Never realized his hands were that slippery!!

Chargersin08 0 Posted September 26, 2009 I like how you're trying to make this about Tony Dorsett, when it has nothing to do with him. It has to do with the fact that Tony Romo isn't as good as he was made out to be. But while we're relying on diversionary tactics, are you gonna start saying Emmitt Smith isn't credible? GhostofMeanMachine99 1 Posted September 26, 2009 Difference between Dorsett's fumbles and Romo's fumbles is that no one remember's TD's fumbles because his teams won. Even as an Eagle fan and Dallas hater I can automatically admit Dorsett was a great back (high school, college, and pro).
