justforbeer 41 Posted December 10, 2009 I have Reggie and I am wondering what people see Reggie doing and have some indepth perspective. I have Calvin Johnson,Donald Driver and Ocho Cinco. I think I am starting them over Wayne. Last week he was quiet....and against Denver he looks to be quiet again. last 2 games 3-19 and TD (barely) 4-48 Last Year Ironically week 12/13/14 all under 50yds and no tds. Did do well week 15 against DET and week 16 Jax. Week 17 barely even played. I will probably not start him against DEN shut down corners this week...... They also play Jets week 16. Yuk! TennisMenace 156 Posted December 10, 2009 Sounds like you have your mind made up. In fact, you are between a rock and a hard place. Bench him.....and if he blows up, so do you (bad way)! If you play him, and he continues this trend, you will only kick yourself. I have Reggie too, so I'm mulling this over as well. Cheers
ChopperTrash 0 Posted December 10, 2009 If you go back a little further he has been bust 4 of the last 5 games. In my league he's put up 4, 24, 8, 7 and 4 points during this stretch. At one point he was unbenchable but this week he's riding the pine. Denver's receiving defense is ranked 2nd giving up an average of 196 points per game. They've given up 10 receiving TDs this year. I'm starting Sims-Walker and either DeSean Jackson or Calvin Johnson over him. These guys have also been gambles lately but they have better matchups against receiving defenses. Of course if this is his week to go off I will be kicking myself.
All_The_Way 0 Posted December 10, 2009 same situation.. i'm usually always against benching studs, but I have to sit one out of these.. fred jackson against KC brandon marshall vs INdy reggie wayne vs den there is no way i'm sitting meachem right now. I've had him in the last 3 weeks. I recently picked up jackson for this matchup only, but marshall has been coming on strong. He is just inconsistent. as of now i actually have marshall benched, but i think i change it every hour..
Zackattack 0 Posted December 10, 2009 I may sit him too. I have Ocho Cinco and DeShuan I could play instead.
RoadLizard 73 Posted December 10, 2009 Denver doesnt have shutdown corners. They have overpriced, old and slow corners. Unless Indy specifically says they will be resting him, you have to play him.
Jarvis Basnight 119 Posted December 10, 2009 Denver doesnt have shutdown corners. They have overpriced, old and slow corners. Unless Indy specifically says they will be resting him, you have to play him. Why would they be resting Wayne this week? They still need to secure homefield don't they? I thought Champ Bailey was still considered one of the best shutdown corners in the NFL? Denver's been good against the pass this year. Personally, I'm not sitting Wayne. Not with Peyton and especially not since the game is in the dome.
Conk22 0 Posted December 12, 2009 i've got Wayne, Andre Johnson, Deshean, TO and Meachem and have to pick 3 (picked up AJ in a trade and picked up Meachem early on the waiver wire). AJ is definitely in my lineup, but i'm still uncertain about Wayne. It seems like Manning is really looking at Collie and Garcon lately. Even Dallas Clark's numbers have fallen lately. I think Manning is preparing for the playoffs and is making sure the younger guys get a lot of looks. It is so hard to sit Wayne though. Unless you have some great options, i'd start him. My problem is that I do have some great options if I sit him. Meachem is on fire, TO plays the crappy Chiefs, and Deshean is always a threat to put up huge numbers. HairBand 0 Posted December 12, 2009 NEVER BENCH YOUR STUDS. YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!
GridIronAssassin#1 0 Posted December 12, 2009 Like others in this thread, I have Megatron as a possible replacement for Wayne. I also happen to have Sydney Rice. I heard Stafford may not be playing which will kill Megatron's value. Also, the Cinci defense might keep Farve contained and that will directly affect Sydney Rice negatively. With Wayne, I guess my biggest question is, is Wayne hurt? If this is the case, I might bench him.
TennisMenace 156 Posted December 12, 2009 NEVER BENCH YOUR STUDS. YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! Sometimes, but definitely not always. Anyone who has benched Wayne or VJAX this past month, or Forte and Barber know what I'm talking about.
Zackattack 0 Posted December 12, 2009 Sometimes, but definitely not always. Anyone who has benched Wayne or VJAX this past month, or Forte and Barber know what I'm talking about. Forte was only a stud in 2008. He has been pretty much a bust this year. Wayne has been a stud for 6-7 years?.
CincinnatiDan 0 Posted December 13, 2009 I'm very nervous about starting Wayne. The Broncos has been very good against the passing game. In my PPR league, I have to choose 2WRs and 1 Flex between Wayne, Ochocinco, Meachem, Steve Smith (NYG), and Justin Forsett (who Mora announced today would get more playing time). Right now, I'm leaning toward Ochocinco, Meachem, and either Steve Smith (based on targets) or Justin Forsett (based on potential catches and perhaps Julius Jones not being effective against decent HOU run defense) at my flex.
