Gatorclan3 0 Posted November 12, 2010 Ive been getting a lot of offers for Gates. I really dont want to trade him...but I am scared of all these injuries mounting up. I know he has a bye this week and that will help. However, is it better to deal him now or just wait it out and hope for the best? How effective will he be after the bye? They will eventually have Floyd and V. Jackson so there wont be such a dependency on him later in the season. However, Rivers is throwing like a mad man and will continue to do so. What do you think? browns16-0 30 Posted November 12, 2010 I have Gates in both my leagues, but was lucky enough to grab Tamme as well in both. I needed wr help in one league and shipped him off for Harvin (who is #4 in pts for wr in this league). In the other league I am gonna roll with him into the playoffs. Even with him missing a game last week, he still leads all tight ends in ppr leagues 157 to 117 for the 2nd ranked player! He is just that good. His value may go down a little with his injuries and a td threat like Jackson and Floyd coming back, but he still will be the top ranked tight end. I see more 5-50-1, than I do 6-110-1. But that is still better than any other tight end, and his consistency is like no other in the game. I think he has scored in 12 out of his last 13 games. That is ridiculous for one of the least consistent positions on FF. Bottom Line: Unless you have another viable tight end, or really need an upgrade somewhere else bad, I would hang on to him. He gives you an automatic edge every single week in a category that few others can. There are not many quality, consistent tight ends on the market, and Gates is essentially a number 1 wr at the tight end position. Gates at 75% is still better than any other tight end out there. lguero1 4 Posted November 13, 2010 if you've held on to him this long, he's yours to keep. i traded him three weeks ago after looking at stats the last time he got injured. he had 15 points the next week. in the trade i got witten and i thought he had great upside with kitna. i also got orton because i lost romo. i also got charles because the owner made the comment that thomas jones and jamaal charles are a wash after jones' two good games.
