Where the Fock is Hillis?!

Recommended Posts

hillis will be traded by tues

at this point, I will take that.

I think you could have a point though. It could be why they were late to report an injury, reading twitter feeds, originally it was a coaches bench decision then they came back and said hammy. I think if we could get any interview news from Hillis himself?

Hillis v.2011 is nothing like Hillis v.2010. Not sure why, but he's just not teh same. And with his contract issues and missing games because of strep throat-bullsh!t, the Browns aren't going to bother playing him since he most-likely won't be a Brown next year. If he was lighting it up and clearly outplaying Hardesty, then it would be different. But he's not.

I write this sitting here in my Browns t-shirt, I watch every game an could careless about my fantasy team if the Browns win. I didn't draft Hillis in any league so I say this with a complete unbiased opinion. Hillis needs to wear down a defense, much like the game in Indy this year. He does not come out breaking off 15 an 20 yard runs, he bangs until a defense is so worn down and then break off big chunks of yards. So understanding his style of play, you can't give him 7 carries and expect him to lite the world on fire. Most importantly, he isn't getting involved in the passing game where he really excels. Hillis is 10x the receiver out of the backfield that Hardesty is. Knowing this, Cleveland fans are going to start calling for someone's head soon!

I don't know where he could wind up though, where he would instantly step in as the starter.

Detroit. Best is not designed to be an every down back.

I don't think Detroit will do it! They're really planning on the 1-2 punch of Leshoure and Best next year when Leshoure is healthy.

Felix Jones has a high ankle sprain! They should get Hillis, but Dallas can't afford it!

Did he fake another injury today?

That's the bigger question.

If he can pull himself out with a 'step throat', why not pull up lame during a game. If his injury is serious, why was he back in after the half for a few plays?

Personally, i think Hillis antics have played himself out of any big contract in this league. What team is going to want to pay a player that would simply GIVE UP on his team like this.

The Browns will give him NO shot in earning the 'team player' label back.

No team in this league will want a player that sell their team short like this.

looks like there is an mri for tomorrow.

I wonder if its an MRI for the trade to be official. This is just like a manager pulling a guy out of a baseball game cause he just got traded. Did anyone see the game? Did he ever come out hanging onto his leg? Getting treatment on the sideline?

Even if he is traded, is Hardesty worth a pickup?

With Hillis removed Hardesty would be the starting and primary RB, so he may be worth a pickup on that basis alone if you've got room on your bench. He didn't look great out there though, and he's on a team collapsing around itself. The Brown's remaining schedule is also pretty rough...

Week 07 Seahawks

Week 08 49ers

Week 09 Texans

Week 10 Rams

Week 11 Jaguars

Week 12 Bengals

Week 13 Ravens

Week 14 Steelers

Week 15 Cardinals

Week 16 Ravens

Week 17 Steelers

Hardesty didn't show me anything where I'd feel comfortable starting him on his first week in the starting role (assuming it pans out this way), and that's likely going to be his best matchup. Really nasty playoff schedule. Might be worth burning him for bye relief.

It's over for him in fantasy this year. But between him and Roddy White and Fat Finley my season is going down the tubes.

1.10: AJ

2.03: roddy

3.10: hillis

record: 2-4

This is the first time I have ever seen a team try to destroy a player because they do not want to pay him. What a freaking joke this franchise is. Im not buying the hamstring injury. The man had 1600 yards last year on a bad team, he deserves to be treated like a very good league running back.

I just want to be able to trade him to a desperate team. I'd prefer not to have any browns on my FF team.

As a fantasy owner of both, I really don't ever want to have to start Hardesty. Hillis has to be the guy or Hillis owners are screwed.

Wow, I dont like any of those situations, but anything could be an upgrade over the soap opera in Cleveland. And it seems like only yesterday he was producing solid numbers and Holmgren was telling the press how badly they were trying to resign him. Funny business.

Oh, and Seattle is going to stomp these fockers good right in their own backyard next week. Hopefully they can make it out of town without any staph infections.

I would be curious to see how Hardesty does without Hillis in the picture. I own them both and just want it to be one or the other in the backfield there. Either way, byes next week leave no choice but to start Hardesty. Now that I have Hardesty, I need to get Bush and Larod Stevens-Howling.

Doesn't appear to be a trade. This situation is terrible. Apparently the Browns are saying they didn't even receive any calls about Hillis. Seems like that's another slap in the face to the man. Anyway, I tried trading him today, but nobody is interested in this soap opera.

G0ddamit.

Some dude offered me Hillis in a trade after Hillis sat out the game with "strep throat". I jumped all over it, thinking this focktard owner was giving up on his stud after missing one focking game.

Turns out I was the fool x100.

I was offered Newton (Cam, not Nate) for him 2 weeks ago. I turned it down. I suck.

Relax. Do not trade Hillis for some junker. Yes, there are some unsettling issues right now in Brownsville with a hammy and with a contract, but all is not lost. Hillis will play when his hammy heals, and he will dominate. Browns fans will not tolerate a healthy Hillis on the bench, and they can be a very persuasive bunch. Hillis knows that he is auditioning now for a team next year, and heads will roll.

Is his season gonna be what it could have been without the injury and contract discontent? No.

Is he the same Hllis that we marveled at last season, who just hasn't had the carries yet? Yes.

Hillis does not fake injury, and he does not settle for second best. He is a football player at heart that will move a nose tackle to get that extra yard to the end zone. Hillis was and is a beast. Hold.

That's actually a horrible read on the Hillis situation. It's Terry Pluto, doing what Terry Pluto does, babbling to himself while walking on the fence. I don't think anything's changed from what I posted a week or so ago. Hillis is not in the Browns long-term plans, while Hardesty is,for right or wrong, and it's looking wrong. Hardesty looks like any other practice squad RB. Only he was a 2nd round RB, and one they traded up to get.

This situation actually couldn't have been lobbed toward the organization any better. The only way they could win the PR game by letting Hillis walk was due to injury and Hardesty taking advantage of it. Well, Hillis has been "injured" twice. The first with strep throat. Hardesy comes in and is a little above average against a bad Miami team. Then there was the head-to-head chance against Tennessee to show fans who was better. Hillis, despite not playing nearly enough, ran for 4.6 yards per carry and caught five passes. Hardesty, ran for 3.5 and dropped five passes. Hillis then gave the organization another chance to prove Hardesty is the man with his hamstring injury this week. Again, Hardesty failed. He couldn't find any yards running, dropped another pass and, most importantly, almost got Colt McCoy killed by missing a pick-up. That's most important, because one area where Hardesty was supposedly superior to Hillis was in pass protection. That blown assignment actually led for the coaches to (probably begrudginly) put a gimpy Hillis back in the game.

Overall, though, the Browns were never going to trade Hillis, as he protects their investment (Hardesty), plus it prevents an all-out mutiny with the fan base. They especially weren't going to trade an injured Hillis, who may have netted a late-round flier pick. That is the one part of Pluto's article I agree with, Hillis really does have some sort of hamstring injury. How bad is it? We'll find out, I don't think it's that bad (maybe a Rashard Mendenhall type tweak).

If/when Hillis is healthy again, he'll be a startable, but not what people were banking on. The Browns have no choice right now. Since they didn't trade him, if they don't play him and he walks, mutiny. If they don't play him and Hardesty goes down with another serious injury, now the Browns go into 2012 with Chris Ogbnnoya as their only RB, even more mutiny. Bottom line, Hillis will play, even if it's only in an attempt to keep Hardesty healthy for next year. That's not to mention this looks to be a horrible team trying to draw people to the gate the next two months. Hillis is by far (only Joe Thomas, Josh Cribbs and Joe Haden are close) the team's most popular player.

Even if Hillis bounces back and becomes the Hillis of early 2010, I still don't think the Browns resign him. But if they do, I think it will be more of an admission to Hardesty's talent level (or lack thereof) than how the organization really values Hillis.

Like I said before, it's not a good situation for a Hillis fantasy owners, but not as dire as it seems. In fact, since you may be able to get him for next to nothing, he may actually be a great buy-low add.

I actually just got him in a six player trade. I gave away Vick, S. Jackson, and Green for Rivers, C. Johnson, and Hillis. I also have Wells and D. Thomas. What appealed to me the most was that the three guys I got have already had their bye weeks. Plus, I dont have to stress every Sunday and wonder if the next hit on Vick will be the one to knock him out for good.

I think Hillis can be a good #2 the rest of the way.

Some moron in my 10 team league dropped him for Ben Tate so I grabbed him and dropped Torrain. He'll be my RB3 so I'm pretty happy about that.

I dunno about that. With the season roughly halfway over and have gotten just one good game out of him back in week 2, for that to have been the good part of his season is extremely discouraging. All we can really hope for is a Hardesty injury it would seem for him to get back the starting/main gig, which is just sad.
