DeSean Jackson is playing like a pansy

Recommended Posts

How can the guy expect to get paid when he curls up in the fetal position everytime a defender gets near him.

Normally, I'm not one to call a guy out, but he's been acting like a sissy. Get off the field if you don't want to get hit.

Andy Reid and the Eagles let this situation get out of hand. They could've worked out some deal to at least sweeten the pot for Jackson this year while they worked on a long-term deal (or not). Instead, they've been promising him an extension for more than a year now and DJax has to watch while the team hands $5 million to the likes to Vince Young.

I don't blame DJax for being pissed. What I do blame him for though is deliberately dogging it to make the point that he's not going to risk his body when he has no deal for next year. If you're going to pull that crap, just hold out and let the team make a determination on whether you're worth the money. All DJax has done with his play is hurt his team and his own stock and leverage in getting a new deal. Will any team pay him the Top 5 money he wants after this season? Not likely.

At this point I'm assuming Reid gets fired and the team lets DJax walk. We have enough problems without having to worry about a locker room cancer who only plays hard when he feels like it.

I think Bowe topped him last night when he put his hands straight to his sides after he jumps for that last ball. What a puzzy.

Marvin Harrison is going to the H of F after making a career of doing this.

Well, true somewhat...but Harrison does a LOT of things that D-jax doesnt do. Like:

- Make all the catches

- Get open even with good corners on him

- Run textbook routes

- Understand the game of football

- Not celebrate like an azz for no reason

- Not be annoying and childish.

And, even worse for D jax is the fact that hes becoming an afterthought. Dood is very close to having limited fantasy value and almost NO real football value. What a doosh.

Oh, I'm not excusing DJax for the drops or saying he's anywhere in the same league as Marvin. Hell, I still remember the game when Marvin went to the ground after the catch and nobody bothered to touch him to make sure he was down and he got up and ran into the endzone (if I remember correctly). Guess guys were so used to it they didn't even try to tackle him by then.

Just saying that a LOT of wideouts these days go straight to the ground after making the catch if there is anyone nearby. Not faulting them but avoiding the hit is commonplace. Stevie Johnson was more of a travesty than DJax yesterday. He was dropping them with nobody around him.

DJax is a little punk ass. There is being pissed and there is still going out on the field and behaving as a professional. He doesn't have any of those qualities and never has. He's another TO, Keyshawn, or Ocho. And there is currently no one on the team to reign him in and teach him some humility and discipline. McNabb was doing a good job of that his first year. Now there is no one on the squad that takes any kind of leadership position. And a lot of this is on Reid. It's the HC's responsibility to make sure the team is functional. I hope they let him walk. Along with Reid. This whole team went from a class act to bunch of whiny thugs in the past few years and it needs to change fast.

On a side note.... Andy defending him when he got that $%#$%# stupid ass penalty last week acting like a low class a-hole and negating a 50 yard gain made me want to punch him in the face a lot harder than I normally want to punch him in the face after his press conferences.

I gotcha....Marvin used to do that though, no doubt about it. I don't think he ever got actually tackled by another player. :)

well, as a player, I believe that you do what you do on the field so that your agent can do what he does off the field. Being a professional means setting aside all off field issues so you can properly do what needs to be done on the field.

DeSean needs to set his contract issue aside and play. his performance (or lack thereof) will determine how much he gets paid, whether that is by the eagles or by another team.

I know it's tough, but he needs to smarten up if he wants his career to go anywhere.

Jackson is clearly a world class d0uchebag, but the Eagles bear some of the blame as well for not at least throwing him some kind of financial bone to get him through the season. Football is a violent sport and these guys have a small window of time to make their money. So it's not incredibly surprising to see a character like Jackson short-arm his way through a season when he is grossly underpaid.

Look at what happened to Fred Jackson in Buffalo. The best player on his team, he plays his a$$ off while being horrendously underpaid, suffers a major injury, and now is highly unlikely to get the kind of deal he would have gotten had he been healthy. And, a late-bloomer at 30 - traditionally near the end for running backs - his window is almost closed.

It's the same reason I never blame a guy for coming out of college early. Could you even imagine being a high draft prospect and suffering a debilitating injury in college and losing that pro deal that secures your family financially for life? Unbelievably foolish.

Actually. DJ is overpaid. What makes this loser worth more money? :dunno:

He needs to take a page from the Arian Foster playbook. Talk about a guy who's underpaid. I wouldn't want Jackson on the Raiders.

I wouldn't want him either. He's worthless over the middle, and if some defense messes up and let's him get deep, the moron might start trying to stick the ball up his ass trying to celebrate before he can score. I've never seen a guy give away so many yards being a puss and doing stupid sh¡t.

Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce will also get to Canton, and they did the same thing.
