panthers3 0 Posted September 29, 2012 Ridley going against Buffalo and Mathews against Kansas City.
SabreNation 3 Posted September 29, 2012 I'm a Buffalo fan and clearly biased but I'd steer clear of Ridley. Buffalo's d-line is starting to gel. They've shut down Jamaal Charles and Trent Richardson in consecutive weeks. Richardson managed respectable fantasy numbers primarily due to a late touchdown. He averaged a paltry 2.3 per carry aside from that. Mario Williams is drawing double coverage every play which is leaving Darius and Kyle Williams to create havoc in the backfield for QBs and RBs alike. Ridley hasn't really been as good as expected anyway. If New England wants to beat Buffalo's defense, it's going to have to be through the air and they're more than capable. I don't see a whole lot of carries coming for Ridley this week. Check mine please: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=408770
The_GW 0 Posted September 29, 2012 Another big BUF fan here. Ridley is not guaranteed to be the lead guy as Woodhead is the one with past success against BUF. With that said, the previous poster is right as the Bills D-line has solidified since week 1. Even with that said, they have not allowed a RB to get over 100 yds rushing. Greene got close in week 1, but they basically had backups in by the end of the game as the game was already out of hand. Against Charles and Richardson, they contained both guys and sure Richardson did get in the end zone, but he had very low yardage. When you saw how much more effective Trent was against BAL yesterday, that kind of tells you how good BUF D-line is improving. The big guys up front for BUF are gettings sacks and turnovers in the past 2 games and NE will probably have to resort to being one dimensional with the pass. NE will probably steer clear of the run and use it only to keep BUF honest, but I see a lot of passes to Welker, Lloyd and Gronk with nothing in the running game for Ridley and Woodhead may get the most touches. Matthews has been called out by the HC and GM and has motivation now. Also, he has had a good track record as I was reading that in his 4 career games against KC, he has either amassed 100 yds rushing or a TD in every game with 3 total TDs. KC's run defense is not good at all and I think Matthews will have a lot more running room and I see a big game from him.
