mayaworld2u 0 Posted October 4, 2012 I've been coming here for years and thank FFToday for the great site. Anyway, I took a different approach to drafting or assembling my team. I'm actually 4-0 but for some reason i'm not satisfied with the lineup. I used to draft or trade for the top of their position and started them every week but this year i'm all about depth. I found myself trying to trade two productive members from my team for Calvin Johnson and then said "why i'm I doing this?" Well, when do you ride out your team? I have gotten some offers but all low ball and trying to see if i should be more active. My team is loaded with Patriots(drafted 3) but stashed Hernandez so that has me worried. PPR and flex option. Thanks in advance. QB: Brady, Schaub RB: Gore, Ridley, Peterson, Martin, Bush WR: Marshall, Welker, Britt, Miles, TE: Celek, (Hernandez) Def: Ravens K: Bryant

Thanks in advance. QB: Brady, Schaub RB: Gore, Ridley, Peterson, Martin, Bush WR: Marshall, Welker, Britt, Miles, TE: Celek, (Hernandez) Def: Ravens K: Bryant Yes this is on the wrong board, but let's look at this team for a minute. I'm assuming this is a 12 team, play 1 QB league with shallow 15 player rosters. QB: Brady - gold, will come around even more; Schaub - you could sell high because with Brady, most any guy off the WW would be a serviceable bye week fill-in in a 1 QB 12 team league with shallow rosters. I'd consider trading him to fill any depth holes elsewhere. like another WR. RB: I'd like to see you pick up Hunter to handcuff Gore; Also, M Bush could be traded for high value right now; otherwise he's merely a flex handcuff to a starter you don't own. WR: Not deep, so you should add another solid one, but OK. I don't believe that you have adequate depth to get through midseason injuries and bye weeks on your terms; but what will likely save you is the shallow benches in your league makes "plug and plays" a reasonable proposition. Rest of team is fine.
Fantasy Noob 10 Posted October 4, 2012 I would have to say wait till week 8, injuries can crop up, and I would be trading for elite/studs with favorable post season matchup schedules. I would probably start heavily researching that and the trends in week 6ish so I think your 2 weeks early. We are just now getting a feel for which defenses are for real and which just have favorable matchups as well as which players are breaking out and who was overhyped in the pre-season. That said, I would try to trade Gore/Ridley combo to solidify your RB position maybe trading depth for a dominate combo of AP/StudX/Bush with Martin/whoever as your depth. Reason being Gore is a perenial injury risk and will likely fade, heaven knows what Belichek will do with Ridley. Me I love trotting out a pass catching RB in the flex/ppr format so Bush is gold there, if this wasn't ppr I would have included him in trade bait but in ppr he is a legit #1RB. If you could somehow pry Sproles away for Gore/Ridley you would have a dominate trio of RB's/Flex that would be almost unbeatable each week. My best team this year has McCoy/Sproles/Charles at RB and the flex in a ppr league...god I love auction drafts, sproles for $21 bucks!?!?. At WR I would try to move Welker ASAP as well, until Hernandez went down Welker was not on the field as much and suffered a drop in production. I think Belichek wants a strong running game in the future especially with the recent improvement to their defense which means Edleman could be taking a big chunk of Welkers snaps. Normally Welker is ppr gold but I am concerned his touches will drop off, Belichek be crazy man. Calvin Johnson actually suffers somewhat in PPR format so I would not trade for him, you want someone like Roddy White or Amendola. Frankly your WR's are actually big names but probably underwhelming in ppr format, you might not actually have a top 10WR on your roster in that format currently, which is odd considering the names. Again I would be targeting a clear stud at WR/RB and if the player is not top 10 material with a favorable matchup in the final weeks of the season I would ride it out with what you have. Make sure you are reviewing the ppr rankings as well, a full point ppr makes a huge difference in WR rankings. Good luck.

Fantasy Noob 10 Posted October 4, 2012 A fairly dominate backfield for $40 bucks total, tasty. I may have to dig up the auction thread about going after studs and relying less on value and eat some crow....nawww no way someone can find that thread its dead and buried! Unfortunately I waived Morris b4 week 1. But still. Other team in sig. McGahee, Benson and Miles Austin were all guys I targeted in both leagues due to value.
