evenflow814 0 Posted July 28, 2013 10 team, 1 keeper league. I draft 9th, non snaking draft. QBs get 1pt/10 rush yds; RBs 1pt/20 rush yds. PPR league. Rushing TDs 6, passing 4. Newton was the 5th highest scorer in our league last year. But 18 of top 20 scorers were QBs. QBS are deep, and drafting late in every round could leave me playing catch up on other positions. I'm leaning toward keeping Newton. But should I consider Spiller or McCoy. Not sure if they'll be there by end of round 1. Only 2 RBs likely being kept. And, if I keep Newton and RBs go fast in first round, should I grab a RB at 9 or look at a WR in that spot? Calvin probably being kept. No other WRs being kept. Thanks! rholio 339 Posted July 28, 2013 Spiller. Weird scoring to really favor the running QBs, but QB is still deep this year.
Durtee 0 Posted July 28, 2013 Spiller for sure, QB is extremely deep this year. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=420098
evenflow814 0 Posted July 29, 2013 Spiller. Weird scoring to really favor the running QBs, but QB is still deep this year. Yeah, we did that a few years ago to try and make QBs more attractive and even them out with RBs. We were trying to put the top three positions on par with each other to make drafting less predictable. We are actually having a meeting thursdaybto talk about changing QBS scoring to bring them down. They score way too high in our league now.
envoy9 5 Posted July 29, 2013 I'm in a keeper league also with heavy QB scoring, and I also have Newton. I'm keeping him, but in our league we have 12 teams, and I'm certain it is worth it for me given our keeper system. In your case, no brainer, don't keep Newton- There will be a good QB you can get, potentially even Newton- with your pick. As you say the QBs are deep, and if you can't get a good QB with your 1st, there will definitley be good alternatives later in the draft. Stud RBs like McCoy and Spiller will not be there. I would likely keep Spiller, but McCoy is also a good option. Please see mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=420125
