montana 89 Posted August 12, 2013 He was riding shotgun not laid out in the back. Doesn't sound serious.
Bills Buff 1 Posted August 12, 2013 Stating now on ESPN that it looks to be an ankle injury, not a knee injury. Speculating on my own: That's good news. Ankle injury, that seems to be less that serious, probably shutdown for the next week or two. Getting him ready for the season opener. If it turns out to be nothing, I'll just delete the thread.
Squintz82 45 Posted August 12, 2013 Just took this video of the update by SportsCenter. Sorry for the crappy sound quality, but figured it could give a better idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYU0dfWosGE
Mike FF Today 709 Posted August 12, 2013 He was hurt on a non-contact play, just making a cut. He limped off the field, then was carted away for medical attention. Andy Reid is going to update the situation shortly.

Mike FF Today 709 Posted August 12, 2013 Reid is calling it a foot strain. X-rays were negative. For now, I don't think it's anything to get too worked up about.
TD Dawg 0 Posted August 12, 2013 Poor Kid just cannot stay healthy; he and McCluster. Hope no one is really counting on him to be their #1. Likely to be better off with Foster or, even, RunDMC.

TwentyFourSeven 23 Posted August 12, 2013 Report on rotoworld is that the chiefs are more concerned behind closed doors about this injury http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4617/jamaal-charles ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on SportsCenter Monday the Chiefs are "privately" concerned about Jamaal Charles' strained right foot. Per Schefter, the Chiefs are "hoping for the best but bracing for the worst." Charles will likely undergo a Monday MRI to determine the full extent. X-rays confirmed Charles avoided a fracture, but a mid-foot sprain could cost him a lot of time. The full damage has yet to be formally revealed. TwentyFourSeven 23 Posted August 12, 2013 ESPN's Ed Werder reported Monday Chiefs coach Andy Reid and GM John Dorsey believe Jamaal Charles' right foot injury is not "a matter of serious concern" based on the initial diagnosis. On Sirius XM Radio, Reid went so far as to suggest Charles could return to practice on Tuesday. Preliminary signs point to a day-to-day injury for Charles, despite a previous report of "private" concern over the ailment inside the Chiefs' organization. For now, Charles is only thought to have a foot strain. Aug 12 - 2:57 PM http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4617/jamaal-charles

TwentyFourSeven 23 Posted August 13, 2013 http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4617/jamaal-charles A source with knowledge of the situation tells Profootballtalk that Jamaal Charles (foot) is "fine." The source offers up nothing more. The Chiefs have already said Charles is dealing with a foot strain, and X-rays later confirmed that there were no broken bones. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Charles is walking around but is "having trouble pushing off." He'll almost certainly be held out of this week's exhibition game. Charles' timetable for recovery is currently unknown. Aug 12 - 8:24 PM Source: Profootballtalk on NBC Sports
