Jarett Boykin downgrade..how far are you dropping him?

Recommended Posts

The news that James Jones could play definitely affects the value of JB. How far are people dropping him?

The ESPN crew, before the JJ news, had JB at 15. Fantasypros consensus now lists JB at 18 but that includes a lot of rankings before the JJ news came in. Players like TY, D Moore, T Smith have now moved past him in fantasypros. Ashlon Jeffries, Kendall Wright, and Stevie Johnson, and M Colston are listed below him.

Personally, I think I'm going to play TY ahead of JB now. I generally like Monday players but don't feel like risking it.

Anyone else adjusting their rankings?

Im putting TY ahead of him if JJ plays (part of that is because I also have Jones and will likely swap him in over Boykin).

Im not that confident in that move though with Houston having been pretty good against the pass this year.,

I would not downgrade him much if any at all. One key word here is "could' play. But I expect that even if Jones plays, Boykin will be the primary 3 wide receiver. In the Green Bay offense, every receiver knows all three receiver positions. And they love the 3 WR sets.

Everyone should be starting Ty Hilton over Boykin whether James Jones plays or not. That dude is about to win a lot of leagues for people

Also remember that there is no Finley. The guys i'd downgrade are the two GB TEs who will mainly be used as inline blockers instead of 'move' TE/ glorified slot receivers.

I don't see it. He is a straight line pattern type of receiver(TY). I figure he will get covered up pretty good now.

I was already thinking of putting TY in my flex over Boykin but this news has me thinking it'd be the better play.

I'm no expert on TY Hilton or anything, but I've seen him play a few times, and from what I can tell, he can't be covered, and he's not just running go routes. In fact DHB is the guy who can't run routes. If I was lucky enough to own Hilton, I wouldn't be sitting him for many guys this week.

Remember when the giants had all those injuries at receiver and Cruz finally got some playing time and went bananas? Something similar might be about to go down. Meanwhile boykin might end up being the 3rd option. Maybe 4th if they decide to give White more looks.

Seems like a no brainer to me

I hear ya bro. I think Hilton is the truth for sure. I am with you on that. I just don't believe in him as a "route runner".

Cruz v/s Hilton as far as I am concerned is a similar situation, but 2 different players. Cruz got his chance, like Hilton, but Cruz is simply exceptional_ unless of course, Hilton just blows it up! Hey Why Not? But I just think Cruz was a far better technical player who got his shot and stood out a little more.

Do I think of Ty ahead of Boykin? Hmmmmmmm...yes, but only by a couple of spots.

How many good games did Jones have before Cobb got hurt? I believe 3 out of 6 and he got hurt same game as Cobb. Cobb is the no.1 on his team when healthy. Nelson is the redzone/deep threat and Jones is the other deep threat/other end option. Boykin should be moving to the slot. Bears don't have a cb to cover anyone though, so this will likely to me be a Jones game. With Lacy getting mixed in as well.

Thank you Mr. Hilton!

Following this thread and benched Boykin for TY right before kickoff

Nice...I have them both in due to bye weeks...still putting up huge points because of Cam, Keenan Allen, TY and Graham.

Have Lacy and Boykin yet to play and already secured my win...I may just put James Jones in if he suits up.
