That's a shame, he was a really good actor vs being a male model who can sort of act like a lot of movie stars. He was terrific in The Master. RIP.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman was found dead Sunday in a New York City apartment of an apparent drug overdose ... TMZ has learned authorities found a needle in his arm.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the actor was found Sunday morning inside a Greenwich apartment ... and they're still on scene investigating.

Details surrounding his death are unclear ... but the actor had struggled with drug problems ... most recently checking himself into a rehab facility for heroin back in May.

I was honestly over it before i got thru the article.

Nothing "tragic" about addicts killing themselves. Cancer is tragic, Alzheimer's is tragic.....rich white famous drug addicts overdosing...not tragic.

Ok back to football

A needle was in the actor's left arm, and eight empty glassine-type bags that usually contain heroin were found in the apartment, law enforcement sources told CNN. The bags were stamped with "Ace of Hearts" and "Ace of Spades" -- street names for the heroin, the sources said.

Same here... I looked at his resume and only saw Twister as well... I didn't think it was too bad, but I had no idea who he was...

The many faces of Deadpan. He had them all. If you did not know his films then you probably loved Anchorman 2.

He was such a great character actor.

Movies I saw that he was in that I thought he was great, even though the role may have been small.

Red Dragon

Mission Impossible 3
