Pecos Rattlers 5 Posted September 6, 2014 Going into the season (ok 1 game too late) which auction pick do you think was your best and your worst? My auction league is a $200 cap with 2 QB, 3 WR, 2 RB 1 TE 1 DF 1K starting. 0.3 PPR but otherwise fairly standard. Worst = Forte: $68 McCoy went for $70 (probably better value), Peterson for $64 (I'm leery of his value at his age) and Charles for $60 (huge value). I wanted Charles but was distracted by the waitress when that closed out :/ Forte was put up for auction with only Lynch left on my top tier, so I was concerned I'd be stuck overbidding for Lynch, so I paid more than I wanted for Forte. Lynch ended up going for $48!? Maybe everyone in my league hates the Seahawks? I think it is more likely that the players saving up for QB didn't want to bid him up and the players who prioritized a stud RB already had one. Best = Romo $17 (2nd QB for me after Brees) This would seem crazy in a standard draft, but in a 2 QB league, getting a top 10 QB as my second starter without breaking the bank is huge. As long as Romo stays healthy anyway.
Fantasy Noob 10 Posted September 6, 2014 I ended up with Kendall Wright, MJD and Knowshon Moreno on a ton of my teams in the late rounds very cheaply. Generally in the $3-6 buck area at end of drafts. I know they aren't the sexiest names but I love MJD and Moreno in my flex positions. I am fairly high on Wright this year he really flies under the radar and especially in ppr leagues, I have him as my #2 WR in almost all my ppr leagues. And if he is a bust I have a ton of RB depth to trade from. Although finding competent #2/3 WR types in ppr on the waiver wire isn't that hard. I like Forte especially in leagues that offer any ppr value. I have him on several teams this year although 68 is expensive I think it will be worth it for you. There is legitimate concern that Lynch breaks down this year, the track record of RB's that get 300+ touches 3 years in a row and avoid injury is obscenely short. The NFC West defenses are old school physical, it is going to be brutal. In all honesty not sure how he has made it this long without injury.
Pecos Rattlers 5 Posted September 6, 2014 I ended up with Kendal Wright as well ($4) - he's my #3 WR after I spent all my $ at QB + Forte. I tried to get MJD ($7) and Moreno ($6) late, but wasn't willing to spend enough to get them. I definitely am high on Forte - he was my #3 ranked RB after Charles and McCoy, so I don't think it was a horrible pick. It was just painful after missing Charles & then a double whammy to see Lynch go for so little. I agree Lynch is an injury risk as well, but I'd take the risk for the savings. AnaheimRams 28 Posted September 6, 2014 Best: Got Dem. Thomas in one league for $40 ($200 cap)... he was the first WR on the block and I jumped the bid to $40. Probably a bit of shock and awe... nobody challenged me. For reference: CJ-$58, Dez-$55, AJ-$46 Worst: Getting T. Mason, D. Freeman and C Hyde as potential cheap keepers. I didn't overpay, but I grossly overestimated what would be left and couldn't/wouldn't afford a 2nd back to pair w/ Forte. So now one of them starts. Ouch.
