bfros 53 Posted November 13, 2014 In leagues that don't use weekly budgets for bidding on waiver claims (which I know I know is the best way to do it), there are two options: 1. Waivers reset to inverse of standings 2. Waivers never reset Big arguments about this in our league. Personally, I like the "waivers never reset" option because it adds a dimension of strategy to the game--i.e., you have to pick and choose which weeks to put in a waiver claim and when not to so that you can work your way up the waiver priority ladder, or not fall too far down it. The "reset to inverse of standings" method seems to reward sucking. If your team sucks or you suck as an owner and you lose, you get to pick first each week. I've never liked that. Feels very un-American. I like the idea of strategy playing a role in waiver order. Thoughts on how best to do this?

NEWPOSTERGUY! 273 Posted November 13, 2014 In leagues that don't use weekly budgets for bidding on waiver claims (which I know I know is the best way to do it), there are two options: at least you're cognizant of that fact - so no need to belabor how superior faab is ... in your sitch, NEVER RESET is the only game in town ... start at reverse order of draft, and let it fockin' ride
mahoney 9 Posted November 13, 2014 We do both and it's worked out well. League going on 10 years of mostly family. Waivers do not reset for first five games of season. At this point, most teams are balanced, injuries haven't yet crippled many teams. However, starting week 6 and until the end of the season, our waivers will reset to worst record having priority. Basically giving teams that struggle a "chance" to remain competitive. No complaints!
DaBeerz 88 Posted November 14, 2014 I like inverse of standings because it's the only way to give real bottom feeders a chance to make a comeback. Otherwise you risk owners tuning out by mid-season when their teams are out of the playoff picture. What we do: 2 WW pickups a week, typically on Tuesday and Wednesday. Pickups are in reverse order of standings, with lowest total points for being atiebreaker if records are the same. Teams who are really out of it have an incentive to play because the higher seeds in the loser playoff bracket are guaranteed a random chance from the top 6 draft spots next year. Teams who fully tune out and don't set their lineups aren't invited back.
