Russell is really my guy because I think he will be great and he's such a terrific fit for the Sixers. I have Okafor and Towns as 1a and 1b but if Okafor falls to 3 I am pretty sure the Sixers will deal down unless there's something greviously wrong with Embiid. BPA is great and all but with that logjam at C none if then will put up the counting stats necessary to trade one of them.

 

All this is moot though because I am 90% sure LA takes Okafor. I just hope Hinkie drafts Russell instead of getting cute.

They could take him and "work it out later" but like I said, having Okafor / Embiid at center with Noel out of position at the 4 creates such a logjam it would deflate everyone's value.

 

If Russell is off the board the Suxers will have no shortage of suitors for the 3rd pick. At that point they may as well deal down to 5/6 and hope to draft Mudiay or Hezonja.

How do you continue to pursue Cousins when you don't have Okafor to deal?

Why? Russell , Kobe , Aldridge is at least a playoff team if Kobe stays healthy as Aldridge is one of the best and most versatile bigs in the NBA.

They need to overtake every West playoff team and still find a way to finish ahead of OKC and Utah, who would still be better than the Lakers. Probably Phoenix too. The Lakers won't be among the ten best teams in the West next year. Two guys that haven't played in the NBA, Russell and Randle, are not going to get you to the playoffs in the West in their first year. Kobe should be healthy for about 15 games this year. And the Lakers will be the worst defensive team in the NBA.

I agree, and I've been a Lakers fan for 30+ years. Kobe is physically done, our defense is horrid, and IMO Byron Scott is not a championship caliber coach. We're in a tough spot either way, with our first going to the 6'ers next year. Unless we miraculously land another top 3, which would only delay that pick for another year. The Steve Nash trade was one of the more stupid things done after Dr. Buss passed.

I'd draft Okafor if I was the Lakers. It's not hard to teach defense. Defense is about effort and attitude. It's hard to learn 20 post moves.

Honestly, I need to see what happens by the end of the night, and then some. I can't imagine a world where Okafor was picked ahead of Poringis, and Okafor not being traded immediately.

Happy to see Mo of Mo's Bows doing so well! He was on Shark Tank a few years ago. Didn't get a deal but Daymond John mentored him and he's 13 making $200K a year! Go Mo!!

The best part about last night is when the Knicks drafted the Latvian dude and he was showered with boos. Then they show the kid bawling his eyes out with a Knicks jersey on. Awesome, the guy hasn't even failed for the team yet and he's already making kids cry

I immediately went over to the Knicks SB Nation site to see their fans on full tilt in a 1,000+ post.
