Frozenbeernuts 2,038 Posted November 12, 2016 I searched the forum briefly to see a thread on this show. The best result was Posts recommending it in a streaming show thread. I was actually surprised to see a response of mine two below his, but I don't remember reading his recommendation. I ended up deciding to try it just because I wanted a new show. I think it's excellent from three episodes I have seen. Each episode stands alone and explores extreme ways in which technology may impact our lives in the future. The 2nd episode drags a bit, but it's still worth watching. Give er a look
posty 2,581 Posted November 12, 2016 I haven't watched any of season three yet, but enjoyed the first two seasons and I thought White Christmas was a great episode...

Big Blue 06 195 Posted November 13, 2016 Based on this, I'll make it my next show. I'm finishing Luke Cage (pretty decent) and then Black Mirror.

Frozenbeernuts 2,038 Posted November 14, 2016 Black Mirror is a great show, you might want to check out sense8 too. That show had some solid moments, but the way they force the gay and transgender relationships down the viewers throats is annoying. It seems half the scenes the two gay guys or the chick who used to be a guy were in, they were passionately making out with their partner. It was constant. A bit over the top. But still a solid plot line.

BLS 314 Posted November 17, 2016 The first episode (PM and PIG) was interesting. It was catchy, but I got bored. The next two were interesting...but just not enough to keep me. I kinda gave up on the show.

I watched the minds' eye recording episode where he forced his wife to show him what she saw when she cheated on him, and I thought of your comment about technology. I agree that sometimes we think more about if we CAN, than if we SHOULD.

Big Blue 06 195 Posted November 19, 2016 I just finished the first episode of season 2, "Be Right Back" and that one stuck with me. If something happened to my wife, would I do something like this? Probably not, but I can't rule it out 100%. Good show, makes you think.

posty 2,581 Posted November 21, 2023 Been renewed for season 7... https://deadline.com/2023/11/black-mirror-renewed-season-7-netflix-1235631753/ Charlie Brooker‘s Black Mirror will return for a seventh season. Netflix has renewed the series, which wrapped its sixth season in June, Deadline has confirmed. The sixth season premiered four years after Season 5. The darkly satirical anthology series, which is mostly set in near-future dystopias, has been through many iterations since it launched on the UK’s Channel 4 in 2011 and the show was given a budget boost when it was picked up by Netflix in 2016. The sixth season soared to the top of Netflix’s Streaming Top 10 in 92 countries when it premiered in June and spent four weeks in Netflix’s global top 10 English-speaking TV. The five-episode season featured cast including Salma Hayek, Annie Murphy, Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett and Paapa Essiedu. The most-discussed ep, Joan is Awful, followed a woman as her life is adapted into a streaming TV series, tapping into AI-related themes that felt prescient during the WGA and SAG-AFTRA negotiations. Series creator Brooker showruns and exec produces along with Annabel Jones, the pair of whom founded Netflix-backed Black Mirror indie Broke And Bones several years ago. Variety was first to report news of the renewal.
posty 2,581 Posted March 14 Season 7 is scheduled to be released on Thursday, April 10… https://tvline.com/news/black-mirror-season-7-release-date-trailer-uss-callister-1235418466/ Looks like “USS Callister” isn’t the only Black Mirror episode getting a sequel. Season 7 of Netflix‘s chilling sci-fi anthology will premiere Thursday, Apr. 10 with all six episodes, TVLine has learned. The streamer has also released the official trailer for the new season, which you can watch below, offering tantalizing teases of the high-tech nightmares that are in store this time around. And in it, we not only see Cristin Milioti back at the helm in a follow-up to Season 4’s outer space adventure “USS Callister,” but we also see Will Poulter looking a lot like video game designer Colin Ritman, who first appeared in the 2018 interactive film Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Will we get to choose our own adventure this time, we wonder? Also spotted in the trailer: Insecure’s Issa Rae and The Crown’s Emma Corrin in some kind of mind-bending AI-powered alternate reality that makes dreams come to life; Rashida Jones as an advertisement-chirping school teacher who collapses in front of her class; and more stars like Paul Giamatti, Awkwafina and Peter Capaldi. “We’ll all be cyborgs before long,” one character jokes… and yeah, we’re not laughing.
