oppie00 1 Posted September 14, 2017 Currently 1-0 and highest scorer last week so I feel I have good chance for playoffs. The guy who drafted David Johnson dropped his yesterday. He worth adding and stashing? Currently have Charles Clay or Willie's Snead (sspd) who are expendable right now until the season professes.
Flgatorguy87 160 Posted September 14, 2017 I don't think he has any value in redraft. That team is going to implode in my opinion. If they are smart they will shut him down until next year. Why risk it if they are sitting at 4 or 5 wins?

If he comes back in only 2 months (the earliest projected date) he would have missed 8 games. This would mean he would be available your last 3-4 games and the playoffs. If he misses 3 months (the high end scenario) he would be available for the fantasy playoffs. I think he's worth a pickup. Especially if you have an IR spot for your rosters. Maulers1973 117 Posted September 14, 2017 I think so!
weepaws 3,103 Posted September 14, 2017 No question he's worthy of a pick up. When he returns no matter the teams record he's going to play. And just I time for a title run. Go get him.

BobSanders_33 127 Posted September 14, 2017 Yes, person who dropped him may not understand new IR rules All fantasy leagues don't have IR rules. I'd pick him up even in a shallow bench league. He will be back near the end of the season and will be a huge advantage. It is basically a lottery ticket you know will pay out. You just have to hold it and hope you are still alive. That was not always the case.

shutdown 40 Posted September 14, 2017 I think you hold him for now but if you see Arizona out of playoff contention, then I'd drop him at that point for sure. I can't seem them rushing him back on the field for a team that has nothing to play for.
Maulers1973 117 Posted September 14, 2017 I was just looking over their schedule. I think 4 - 4 is a very real possibility after 8 weeks. That's certainly not "out of it" by any stretch. Also, probably 5 - 5 after 10 weeks. So, I think there's a good chance they'll still be in it when he's able to play. I wonder if they can fashion some type of air cast to protect the wrist but still enable him to grip the ball.
Frozenbeernuts 1,987 Posted September 14, 2017 Wow, is last year's top fantasy player worth a roster spot? Hmmmm let me see

polecatt 474 Posted September 14, 2017 No, he's not playing again this year I don't believe I don't see the Cardinals winning a lot, especially without their best offensive player They won't rush him back
FeelingMN 273 Posted September 14, 2017 Is there a precedent for a player missing most of the season then returning for a couple weeks and performing at the same level he had pre-injury? Not sure there is. Week 2 is really early to be making a stash for the fantasy playoffs. With bye weeks and additional injuries sure to affect most rosters, I think having to stare at those red letters will cause owners to adopt a more practical approach at some point...especially if the Cards aren't going anywhere this season. Donkey 34 Posted September 14, 2017 just dropped in my league. undecided on whether he's worth a pickup. maybe he is. hate to burn a roster spot. i think he's gonna be out a long time and obviously if cards are out he won't play but maybe he comes back towards end of season. tough call. bbreese 0 Posted September 14, 2017 i just picked him up because I have the room on my bench, also if he does come back I would rather have him on my bench/lineup than the guy I am playing against. plus I can say I have the top three rb's (have bell and zeke already)
tanatastic 2,062 Posted September 15, 2017 Yes but not if you have a short bench. You will need that spot during bye weeks.

Odds are, you'll constantly be dropping and adding one player every week and/or have a player that you never start. Use that spot for Johnson.
smash-a-mus 6 Posted September 15, 2017 Right when the injury news came out and the prognosis was 2-3 months. I took a gamble and traded hyde for him. I prob overspent but I'm hoping he comes back for playoffs. Now the news is that he'll be back for christmas... week 16. There is high likelihood that they just shut him down for ROS if ariz is not in contention for playoffs. In hindsight, I wish that I didn't make the trade. I probably hold him for a month and see what news comes out but if I didn't spend hyde to get him, I could easily just drop him because I have a pretty short bench.
