I use simmer time or roasting time to prep...

Ie: get either soup or cranberries going, then start my stuffing while it is slowly simmering on the stove top

Or get the stuffing going, then prep out the soup etc

Kept it simple.

Roasted turkey (brined)

Classic sage stuffing

Whipped potatoes

Corn

Yeast rolls

Pasta salad with salami, parm cheese, sun dried tomatoes, artichokes, olives and lemon vinegarette.

Spring Mix salad with bacon, croutons, tomatoes, cucumbers and champagne shallot vinegarette.

My wife made:

Pumpkin pie

Chocolate cake with chocoloate cream cheese frosting.

Rice crispy turkey legs.

My kids ate the turkey, salad, corn and the desserts.

I told them Id give them $20 each if they would eat 1 spoonful of whipped potatoes. Neither one of them got halfway through it.

I cant understand how they got to be such picky eaters. For now, Im blaming it on my MIL since she was with them a lot when they were younger.

Worthless. Fine,but worthless.

Nice gathering.

How many people were there, 30-40? That's a ton of food.

Me and my wife, my parents, sister and BIL and their two kids, sister and BIL and their 3 kids, brother and SIL and their 2 kids, BILs sister her husband and their 2 kids. So 21 people. We usually have a ton of food every thanksgiving and Christmas. Especially if my aunts, uncles, and their families come over

We eat at 5. I graze beforehand....you know appetizers or horderves like normal people?

3 isn't too bad. But the freaks that eat at noon or 1? What the hell are you doing?

A nap?

JFC. This place has officially become a senior citizen forarm.

I'd rather eat later since I will have a light breakfast mid morning like normal. Plus why get all full and tired at 1 and carry that around all day and pass out? You eat at 5, have desert, sit around for a bit and pass out during this crappy late game. Much better use of the day.

Some of us need to greet all the shoppers starting at 2, so we eat our Thanksgiving meal at noon. Must be nice not having to work on Thanksgiving.

We eat anywhere between 1-3. We all travel to my sisters house which is an hour 15 minutes from me and an hour 30 minutes from my other sister. So theres travel involved and my sisters wanted to do shopping later on. Plus we have all day to spend with each other watching tv, drinking, telling stories, etc

You can make a tall gratin and use a mold for the tower

Youngest daughter has to work until 5 so we aren't eating until 6:30.  Later than I'd like but, I like my kids so that is more important.  :)

Our remodel is almost done, at least for the kitchen to be functional.  Wife, son, and I installed the wall oven over the weekend.  Knock on wood, our kitchen island granite will be installed tomorrow, so we will be able to install the cooktop.  Then it will be a go for us to host Thanksgiving here.
