Brick and Mortar Hobby Shop.  Sports cards and memorabilia, Pokemon cards, board games, hobby supplies, etc.  Our ebay and FB sales over the past 6 months clearly show the demand.  We already have a retail space we can use without incurring additional rent.

I have none.  I can buy new packs from my supplier.  eBay is your best bet for an individual card.

We may at some point.  Magic requires a lot from its retailers though.  To start. would need a dedicated space for players to play tournaments or something like that.

I don’t know anything about Pokémon except:

Kids seem to like them.  

Adults who collected them when they were kids like them. 

There are some really valuable cards.

We won’t be playing any nerd games at our place.  That was probably magic the gathering.

Hardcore sports card collectors can be just as nerdy as the D&D crowd.  But a whole new customer base has emerged for sports cards. 

New boxes are like scratch off tickets on steroids.  People spend $300 on a box, hoping to hit a $1K card.  Most often, they end up with $50-$75 bucks worth of cards.  

PSA, BGS and SGC 10 graded cards are now liquid assets and trade like shares of stock.  There are currently 13,000 Luka Doncic Rookie Prizm PSA 10 cards in existence.  The current selling price for that card is $1500.00. so the market cap for that one card is $19.5M.  That's just one player, and one rookie card.   

In many ways, this store will be like a mini casino.

By the way, I have some questions for you about handling cash, security systems, etc.  PM me when you have a chance.

Good luck. Brother opened up one of those down here after he retired from teaching in both NC and S.C. For him, it’s more for a hobby and getting paid to do it (which I’m sure you’re doing as well cause you seem to love sports cards like we do). It’s always nice to be able to open up a store for something you love personally.
I got to meet quite a few famous race car drivers back in the day when my parents ran theirs. They had gotten Jeff Gordon (my moms favorite driver) to come to their shop to sign autographs when he was in his rookie year as a driver. Favorite driver though is Richard Petty (got to meet him at a card show back in the 90s as well)
