Twitter censorship poses a threat to national security

They blocked the new york post for 16 days, specifically for the tweet with the link to the story.

Not one day. 16 days.

You’re talking about the freezing of NYP’s account. They couldn’t post & they couldn’t be retweeted.
However Klippenstein has been entirely suspended, & it may be a permanent-ban.

Twitter at that time changed their policy - previously no hacked data could be posted by anyone. Then for Maga they changed it to - ok you can post & circulate hacked/stolen data so long as you’re not the actual hacker.

Now Musk has changed it back, but even more so. Instead of just making certain posts being frozen or accounts frozen, the poster is entirely suspended & banned.

I dont really understand the distinction you are trying to make.

Klippensteins other account still works. So whats the difference worth mentioning here? They werent suspended they were just frozen? But he is half suspended?

Its their own medicine. I dont care if they send a brown bag of dog poo to his house and suspend him for life.

The stuff he posted on his site isn't even newsworthy and the obvious reason he is putting it out there is to put his personal info out there. When even Legum says the stuff is a dud, you know it doesnt have news value.

Old twitter & Musk both, they penalize the account violating the terms of service, not all footprints of the user everywhere. For example Trump’s personal account was suspended during Jan6, not his official account.

The NYP account frozen for a bit - people could still see the HB report, even I remember seeing that myself. & if Klippenstein uses his other account to post the Vance report (prepared by/for the Trump campaign) then it will be suspended too.

If you want to say it’s a distinction without a difference, fine, I’m just saying anyone who wanted to see the HB post back then could it’s just dissemination was limited.

Point is Old Twitter changed the rule to suit Maga fans & now Musk has changed the rule *back, again to please Maga.

I don’t disagree. And I object to permitting it for other reasons too. But let’s face it there’s tons of not newsworthy dreck on twitter, FB & all social media. However using your rule means it’s totally up to who runs the company, so it all depends on that.

Trump campaign worked with Musk’s X to keep leaked JD Vance file off platform

>>Donald Trump’s presidential campaign worked with X to prevent information about JD Vance from being posted on the social media platform, a move that resulted in the journalist who revealed the information being kicked off the site, according to reports.

The former president’s team contacted X, owned by the billionaire Trump backer Elon Musk, about a 271-page document compiled by his campaign to vet his running mate that was linked to by Ken Klippenstein, an independent journalist…<<

Only NOW you want to get fake outraged?  Could've used you prior to Musk owning it when it was Twitter and run by far-leftists.

You're a day late and a dollar short.  No one believes your fake outrage cause you didn't say a damn word when it was run by leftists.

Online platforms shouldn’t post hacked data. So I agree with what Twitter did here.
