There is more to life than money or looks, and yes mental illness is a tough one.  There are probably many more extremely happy poor people than rich ones on this planet, by far, even based on percentages.

I assume being as attractive as she must have been she was only being approached by those described in the OP.  Thus her jumping off of a building.

As a person who is facing his mortality and fervently does NOT want to die, I think that suicide is about as tragic a mental illness as there is.  I'm not talking about end of life/excruciating pain types of decisions, but otherwise to be in such a mental state that ending your life seems like the solution... that is so sad.

Not to share too much here, but maybe 15 years ago during my separation and divorce, It crossed my mind to the point where it was not if, but how and when.  It is like concentrated emotional pain and you so badly just want it to stop that you are willing to do almost anything.  It is truly sad.  That's a crazy way to choose to go though.  I would have picked something a little less painful.

For most of my adult life I always wrote off mental illness as an excuse.  Mot of this is explained by my mother, who led a life filled with trauma that she never dealt with, and would always make comments about depressed people as "They have no reason to be sad, look at what I've been through and I'm fine", and I was always taught to just toughen up.

It's only been the last 5-10 years that I've learned that this was not healthy, and take a different approach in my life.  I've seen mental illness first hand.  It's not an excuse.  It's not about being weak.  It doesn't go away because of fame or money or anything else.

I had anxiety after an accident, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.  I had no idea what it was before that.  And suicide is not a big deal when you have mental illness.  It is just an option to end your suffering that has no greater significance than any other.
