HIPAA would prevent knowing WHO got the medical care, not the general statistics.

Fair enough. I still don’t think hospitals are obliged to release stats on the care they give or the demographics they give it to. A hospital that does offer gender reassignment surgery would be stupid to release that info.

Good one Peefoam / Max O. Are you going to spend the entire weekend here with this handle, or transition to another alias? :(

Do the right thing and move out of that Liberal Shizzhole. Do it for your Family, they deserve so much better.

What a shock…more evil people rooted in WPATH cultism support transing kids.  If nothing else, people should be kicked in the nutz for voting Dem and continuing an administration that advocates for genital mutilation of kids.

This post is not specifically trans related.  This kid killed himself after becoming addicted to a chatbot:

https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2024/10/chatbots-posed-as-therapist-and-adult-lover-in-teen-suicide-case-lawsuit-says/

I know it sounds stupid but what it shows is how easily children can be manipulated and groomed.  This kid KILLED HIMSELF because he wanted to live in the chatbot's world.  But some people are ok with letting similar kids decide to cut off their junk or boobs.

Did you read the article? There is actually a lot of really good data and research and philosophical look at what it means in it.

Yes, of course I read it.

I'd be interested in reading a full length interview with the doctor to get more of her thoughts on the process and surrounding concepts and everything. I can't tell if she was trying to prove or disprove the Danish study. It feels like because she is an advocate she was trying to prove it but the results showed no real change in mood. But that seemed to mean whatever mood they entered with they generally kept with some people trending upward but not in a number that would quantify and lead to mass changes.

I'd be curious too if, and how, the study changed her thoughts on this all.

She’s a member of WPATH, so she’s an activist.  She wanted the study to support WPATHs standards of care, which are being used by physicians worldwide.  WPATH has been known to withhold information that doesn’t agree with their direction.  These are the same people who used terms like “completely safe” “harmless” and “completely reversible” when describing puberty blockers.

The study didn't seem to cause any harm to anyone and was seemingly safe. I would imagine you can take pills or some medicine to change back the hormones in your body.

I do feel like reattaching a lost appendage might be a tougher fix.

And if WPATH wants to hold back information then why would she speak on the study at all? Even speaking on it a little is going to politicize it.

You’re kidding right?  I’m not sure how strong your opinion is supporting blockers,  but thinking you can just “take pills or medicine” is uninformed.  Not surprising though, the idea that you could just “turn on” your puberty with no ill effects was widely pitched by activists.

I don't support blockers....but there are meds you can take to boost testerone and estrogen production in a body...so maybe not specifically change back but increase the production. That's not uninformed- there is legitimate medicines that do that. I'm not sure how they would work against a previous puberty blocker- which is essentially blocking testosterone and estrogen production

Just sterilization and loss of development during the most important year.  Will destroy any chance they have for a normal sex live.  No damage here.

Do you deny there are meds to boost testosterone and estrogen production in individuals?

This gets at some of the questions I am asking/wondering about. No need to be a D!ck about it

I was referring to the mental state of stuff as that was what the study was looking at.

He doesn’t even care if the kids he’s getting paid to teach learn anything. Think he GAF about these kids? Mooney is more concerned with sticking it to MAGA.

So you are worried about some possible short-term impact to mental health, but not concernee about the long-term physical impacts and the resulting long-term negative impacts to mental health.

You are inferring things I was not agreeing with in the article because it fits your narrative you want to present. I think there is a lot to the process of all this that is unknown or is very personal to the people involved. I don't like aspects of the care provided but I also don't feel like I should be dictating to someone in this case what they should be doing because it affects them personally.

Pointing out that you don’t take measures to stop porn in your home isn’t that. Sad the lengths you go to. I have harmed you severely.

She sure seems like an advocate for kids.  If you cut off your t!ts as a teen, and you want them later, just go get some.  Holy shat.  No wonder people like @Sean Mooney think you can just switch puberty on later with synthetic hormones, no harm no foul.

That's not really what I said but if you want to lie, or misconstrue, to prove your point, I won't stop you.

You nhever answered either- do you deny there are meds that boost testosterone and estrogen production?
