1) stealing 401ks, I think I made this remark a few months ago, in reference to people in your profession that convert 401ks into annuities, netting themselves a huge commission.  Not technically theft, just an unethical practice that I have no knowledge that you ever did.

1.) You have no idea what you're talking about. You've framed me as an insurance peddler who "steals" people's 401Ks. There are lots of great, appropriate options for rolling a 401K from a former employer into something that's better managed, and there are federal laws as well as company standard in regard to how much you can put where, ensuring that what is being done is in the client's best interest. This isn't "stealing." Stealing a 401K would be a federal crime with a stiff prison sentence. There are bad advisors out there who do put unsuspecting clients into crap such as indexed annuities, which cap growth and generate huge commissions. I don't sell those.

Advisors typically operate off of either commission or fees, with the latter typically making more money. As your account grows, they make more money.

2.) It looked suspicious. You were here yesterday. If you're going to fabricate crap about my politics and profession, you got nothing to whine about when I allege that you're a snitch.

Biden is a doddering idiot who should get this country seriously thinking about maximum age limits for running for that office. Cut it off at 74 or something.

And I'm confident you overestimate the impact it has on my life.  I have noticed, however, that in your responses to gutter you follow a typical pattern of getting butthurt over good-natured ribbing, in this case gutter talking about the IRA conversions or whatever.  He's just giving you shiot for selling insurance, but he often sets you off when he does it.  I'm aware that he knows this and is not without blame for your slap fights, but as I told my kids when they were young, you control your reaction.

Back around 2004, I was in Seattle, and he and gratefulted drove up from Portland to meet me there. It was a Saturday, and we drank a bunch of beer and hung out. I vaguely remember going to dinner that night.

Torrid is probably the single biggest reason I got hooked on this place.  I had been a mange boarder only until the fall of 2004; when I dipped my toe in these waters, there was Torrid being Torrid about the election.  I couldn't resist getting sucked into arguments with him; it was a gift he had, as you astutely noted.
