Paul Pelosi exercises $1M Google stock call options before Dems introduce congressional stock trading ban

Pelosi bought the call options in December 2021 and exercised them on Sept. 16

Paul Pelosi, husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, exercised call options on at least $1 million worth of Alphabet stock ahead of last month's bill banning members of Congress from purchasing individual stocks.

Paul Pelosi exercised call options on anywhere between $1 million and $5 million worth of Alphabet stock on Sept. 16, after which they would have expired. 

Paul Pelosi originally purchased the right to buy Google stock at a given price in December 2021. Alphabet is the parent company of tech heavyweight Google. 

The disclosure shows that Paul Pelosi exercised the call options one week before a bill was introduced to the House of Representatives that bans the trading of individual stocks by congress members and their spouses.

The bill was backed by Nancy Pelosi.

Agree on what you were doing.  Instead of saying, "yeah, but what about these guys" what you should be saying is "lets hold them all accountable, and right here we have a good example to start with".  Your inclination to deflect instead of tilt toward accountability is why politicians can get away with this.

To be fair, Pelosi is much more high profile than the others in the list. Unusual whales has done a good job exposing both sides for this and it isn100% a bipartisan isssue.

The only issue with that is things have been so one sided for so long that the conservatives need to dominate the left or else it doesn't matter.

I think most of them are dirty but it’s people like her and her directly that have prevented the ban of stock trading by members of Congress. 
 

edit: ironically the book is titled “it’s ok to be angry about capitalism”. These people are all self serving grifters. People like Tim admire them. Makes me want to puke.
