French onion pasta

Recommended Posts

This looks pretty tasty. Then again, mushroom marsala pasta is one of my favorite dishes.

Seems like a few things are lacking though. If you're really trying to basically deconstruct French onion soup, I would definitely have toasted Parmesan bread crumbs. Or whatever cheese you want to add. You'd want to mirror the usual toast and cheese cap found in regular French onion soup.

And yeah, I probably hit it with a bit of booze. But that's me. Aromatics as you choose.

Last, I think you would take presentation to the next level by grilling some portabella caps and scooping your pasta into them.

Still, pretty interesting recipe. Great baseline to  build from.

Isn't there usually port or sherry in French onion soup?

Also, that looks good.  I might add some bacon because... well, bacon makes everything better.  But even as a standalone veggie dish it looks good.
