RAOs jar sauce is the ONLY jar sauce I’d cook with.

Separate note - I had Stouffers French bread pizza for dinner last night (Deluxe). Not bad. Not bad at all. (Hate to admit that LOL)

Campbells soup owns Rao's now.   So that will turn to shite

Campbells soup owns RAOs now and year I fear it’s going to taste like tomato soup however they claim won’t be changing recipe - at least in the sauce. We’ll see.

Rao's spaghetti sauce was America's test kitchen top rated jar spaghetti sauce in a blind taste test of all major brands. I agree, it is top notch.

However, the rest of their products seem to be average at best. I have tried the frozen pizza and frozen lasagna and both were average at best imo.

I am not sure how your local grocery store looks on the inside, but HEB in Texas has some higher end frozen pizza's from local companies. These are the same price as the other frozen pizza's and the local places are usually much higher quality.  I would imagine that the local frozen pizza in the north east would probably be better than the local frozen pizza down here in Texas.

@Strike  Tony's meat market makes their own sauces. The best sauce they make is sloppy joes, however they also make a top notch spagetti sauce as well.

We bring box's of jars of sauces back with us to texas when we visit.

Thanks for the heads up.  Tony's isn't far from me.  Will have to check those sauces out

It is good but here’s a tip. Add 6 ounces of  Chilean Red wine and it knocks it out of the park

I love pizza, but i'm not a pizza snob. I'm not against dominos for example, there's just no reason for me to order dominos when I have so many amazing local small joints to choose from.

But I love frozen pizza. I'll usually pick one up when food shopping and I like to try different brands. Red Baron has long been my fav. I like their 2 pack of small pizzas. A long time ago they used to have a box of pizza bagel sized mini's. Those were good too. Stouffers french bread pepperoni is another favorite of mine. Also the bigger full sized "digiorno type"... could be freschetta or other brands depending on the sale. We have a few LiDL stores around me and i've tried their prozen pies. Pretty good as well.

Considering I like RAO's sauce (it's absolutely over priced but it is very smooth which I prefer in my sauces) I'll have to try their pizza.

100% agree.  I like Red Baron's thin crust.  I will sometimes add a little more cheese and some extra pepperoni, maybe a cut up green pepper.   But as a quick pizza at home, I think it tastes just fine

RAO's is good sauce, and Costco sells a two pack for like 8-9 bucks which is far more reasonable than a single jar in the grocery store.  I imagine that might be going away now that Campbells has bought them.

But....for a very good sauce at a very good price, I still go to Newman's sockarooni sauce.

Disgusting.

Pipe down wind bag. No one is making their own sauce every time if they have a life. Nothing wrong with a quality produced sauce.

as for frozen pizza, it’s a guilty pleasure. I’d wager there’s plenty of things you enjoy that wouldn’t be considered gourmet 😂

When I make sauce, I make a giant pot.  It takes about 15 minutes.  Then I freeze multiple servings to use later.

But I enjoy cooking, many others don't, so I get it.  I also have the luxury of living in an area where there are multiple real pizza joints within minutes from my house.

And no I really don't enjoy fast food or processed food anymore, and I grew up on that sh1t.

Actually scratch that, tasty cake Kandy cakes are the t1ts.

I also spoiled my kids.  I had to make a batch of sauce for my daughter who went to college recently because she couldn't eat the dining hall red sauce.

we will keep a frozen around for a quick, easy meal... like gino's east and California Pizza Kitchen.

I would give this a chance.
