Looks like all the Bears starting DBs could be out for tomorrow's game vs. Washington. -6 in my book

Recommended Posts

Washington is up to -6 from -5.5, but I've also seen -6.5.

And I think Kyler Gordon is still on IR in addition to the list below. Ouch.

Washington has WRs Dotson and Samuel coming back off injury and ready to go.

How many threads do we need about the Bears.  They stink today, they will stink next season, and they will stink 2025-2050.

Enough already go get a job.

Dude doesn't like me so he follows me around with snide comments all the time. Tries to get others on board to ruin threads.

And he's also mad that I was able to retire this year at 58. Hence the "get a job" comment.

Anyway, thought this info would be good for those planning to gamble on the Thursday night game.

Thanks for the thread. Good to know. Dotson is on my bench where he will remain but if I had a tough flex decision with bye weeks or injuries to WRs, this would help make a decision for myself and other Dotson owners. Helpful for Sam Howell owners in 2 QB leagues or leagues where their starting QB is on bye.

Here's a little more specific: What's odd is that I thought the injury reports included those players that are on IR. Two other key Bears' players out are starting slot CB Kyler Gordon and starting left tackle Braxton Jones. Both on IR.

Commanders vs. Bears: Week 5 final injury report

Bryan Manning
Staff Writer

The final injury report is in for the Week 5 edition of Thursday Night Football, featuring the Washington Commanders and Chicago Bears.

The news is good for the Commanders. Wide receivers Jahan Dotson (ankle) and Curtis Samuel (quad) will play. Rookie running back Chris Rodriguez Jr., who is the third on the depth chart, is questionable. Rodriguez missed practice last week and the game with an illness.

As for the Bears, three players are ruled out for Thursday:

  • S Eddie Jackson: Foot
  • CB Jaylon Johnson: Hamstring
  • WR Chase Claypool: Non-injury related

Two others are questionable for Chicago:

NFL STATS CENTRAL: The latest NFL scores, schedules, odds, stats and more.

  • S Jaquan Brisker: Hamstring
  • OL Teven Jenkins: Calf

The injury news coming out of a physical game against the Eagles was good news for the Commanders.

Losing Jackson and Johnson is a big blow for the Chicago secondary, which has already struggled to stop the pass.

yeah can we consolodate to only one thread per team?    I do agree if you were betting this might make the betting line a lot wider but in general the bears are a pretty boring team and I dont care to talk about them much

No. It's a different topic. And it's not like there are 100s of posters posting new threads all over the place. This is about Thursday night football. Not just the Bears. It would be nice if hometown fans of a team would post more about their team's status going into games. Sorry you don't like it, but I can't help you with that. I skip over threads all the time that I hold no intesrest in. I don't go into those threads and tell the OP they boor me.

And I hate mixing topics into one thread.

I agree.  it would

I love when (for example) TBay comes in and posts on the status of his team.    I trust the homer on whats really going on with their team as they are more likely to know all the significant injuries and even some of the politics with the team (ie. who is in the coaches doghouse and such)

That kind of info is tough to get if you are not getting the local news.

It really is. The whole mood of the team. Like with all the Claypool crap that's going on. Not that he's playing, but the fact that it's talked about in Chicago about how the coaches were on a different page than the players and such about the guy and why they told him to stay home. Even Cole Kmet had comments on it about Claypool's at Notre Dame and how he was perfectly fine because they won a lot of games and didn't lose like the Bears are losing.

All that stuff is interesting from the different teams. I agree. And some of it can be helpful going into the games for gambling as well.

I retired at 60. Hard to believe it’s been eight years

I'm still adjusting to it. It's been only since Friday and I have moments of, oh crap what do I need to get done? Sometimes before sleep and sometimes when I wake or even moments during the day. It just jumps at me out of nowhere. Then I have to remind myself I'm really done with it all. Such an adjustment.  I planned on leaving next year but the burn out and stress told me to screw it. What's one less year if I am going to live in stress for that whole year?

The after work life goes fast you're saying I guess? I spent 21 years at my company. It was time.

thursday games are always harder to predict because of the short week.   I have found that the shorter week takes coaching and preparation out of the equasion and its more like backyard football where its more about talent and the ability to AD LIB when plays break down.

but I'm not a big gambler.   I have a buddy who asks me to make picks for him every week.   he wins a fair bit of cash off of it and occasionally gives me kickbacks when he has a good week.

its not much but I get a little pocket money out of the deal and dont have to risk anything.

I've been gambling for a long time. Some big wins over times and some down periods. I don't bet huge. $50 to $100 per game mostly but only a select couple games. Last I deposited money was $200 last November. I got that up to about $3000 over that time thru today so obviously I don't do it for a living. :)

I usually do better with baseball because football can be such a crap shoot. But I'm up so far on the first 4 weeks this year. I just do it for fun.

Get into a routine. Just like when you worked. Make sure you include exercise of some kind, I walk every day, and do the food shopping. Sounds crazy but you will start to socialize and meet new people. Keep a schedule of up at a certain time and bed at a certain time.

Reconnect with old friends, go to church a lot, do the things you didn’t think you could do.

Enjoy each day. It truly is a gift from God.

Thanks. Exercise routine is easy for me. I'll jump right into that no problem. Same for the food shopping as that is my thing to do in this household anyway. My girlfriend can't be trusted at the store and she admits. She goes crazy at the store. :)

The sleep routine thing is my biggest obstacle. I tend to reverse hours as many times at work I needed to connect with people in opposite time zones and was used to staying up or sleeping odd hours etc.

I'm definitely going to  visit family. I have 7 older brothers and sisters around the country. Time to visit.

Church is another thing I intend to start bringing back into my life. It's been about 10 years since I've last been.

Those are all really good suggestions and kind of fits who I am.
