Procedurally this is the right decision.  Unfortunately it inures to the benefit of Smollet who gets the benefit in spite of his actions.  Still, sometimes idiots and guilty persons get breaks so that we may all, them included, enjoy the protections of due process.

Mrs...beer works in federal EEO.  She can't stand all the "everything is racist".  Just as the point was brought previously in this thread, Juicy's false claim degrades the claims of real racism, of which there actually are.  She says she gets things coming through that really are race or gender based discriminations, but it's hard to get managers above to see that, as "when EVERYTHING is racist/sexist, nothing is".  It's the old "boy cried wolf" scenario unfortunately.
