You guys ever wonder what it was like to see Babe Ruth? Just watch a Yankees game.

Judge is killing it for sure.

As for Ruth there was this regular at the bar we called old Man Joe because he was and we had other friends named Joe. He grew up in Hells Kitchen and told us numerous stories about Babe and his drinking- even still had autographs he shared. They would wait outside the bar Babe was in and Ruth never said no to an autograph request.

also, BWJ is the only thing standing in the way of the triple crown for judge.

If a team loses 100 games they should be dropped down to AAA

Being a fan of Premier League soccer, I think they should do that in baseball and basketball.  No more tanking for players, you suck, you get regulated to the B league.

Jeebus, I didn't realize Judge hit for such a high average too, that's insane.

I know that anything can happen on any given day, but it is still funny to see Patrick Corbin shutting out the Yankees through six innings and only allowing two hits…. Sure was something that was not expected…

Very important four-game series in Philly for the Braves…. Obviously I would love to see the Braves sweep, but I believe they need to win three of them for any shot at the division…

Bad day for the royals.   Erceg and Vinnie injured and leave the game on the same play :(

Well that sucked…. I guess they got to hold on to the wildcard, but when you lose what they lost this year to injuries, surprised they still have a shot…

Because I pronounce it ARE BEE EYES  If it's wrong, don't know for sure about that, don't care, it's how I say it. This an old argument and I don't want to play. Happy to help you out on "who Vinnie is?"

What about the situation where they walk or get hit by a pitch with bases loaded?  They did not use their bat…. Right? ;)

Brewers and mega-prospect Jackson Chourio agree to 8-year, $82 million contract extension

The prized possession of the Milwaukee Brewers' farm system will now be a member of the big-league club for a long time.

Jackson Chourio, who is not only the Brewers' top prospect but may also be the most highly-regarded minor-leaguer in franchise history, has agreed to a record-breaking contract extension with Milwaukee, sources have confirmed to the Journal Sentinel.

Chourio doesn’t turn 20 until March, has yet to make his MLB debut and has only six games above Class AA; yet, due to his immense potential, he has signed an eight-year extension worth $82 million with two $25 million team options. That is the most money ever given to a player before he appeared in the majors.

The contract buys out Chourio’s six years of team control as well as what would have been his first two years of free agency. There are also two club options tacked on the back end that were crucial from the Brewers’ side of the negotiation table, meaning Chourio could be in a Brewers uniform through 2033.

When they did this I thought it was the most insane thing I'd ever seen the Brewers do.  That much for a guy who hadn't played a single major league game!!! I"m glad I was wrong, the kid is legit good with all-star potential.

He was hitting around .200 for the first two months of the season, but since then, he's climbed to .278 with 18 HR's 20SB's and an OPS of .789.  And since the All-star break.  Fun to have a home grown potential superstar on the team.

OF, Brewers: +280 points
Pre-All-Star: .678 OPS | Post-All-Star: .958 OPS

One of the most hyped prospects in baseball prior to his 2024 debut, Chourio went through some growing pains earlier this season, struggling to the tune of a .207/.251/.323 slash over his first 51 games while racking up far too many ground balls (51.7% GB rate) and strikeouts (27.3% K rate). However, the 20-year-old began to find his footing in June and has only gotten better in the second half, hitting .347 with six homers, eight steals and a .958 OPS over 30 games. He has notched 16 multihit games in that time, tied with Judge for the most in MLB.

Pretty cool discussion of an at bat and the chess game between hitter and pitcher from Bonds and Maddux.

I saw a video recently with Javy Lopez saying Maddux called his own game, signaling the pitch with the way he caught the ball after the previous one and a touch of his nose, etc as well.

The twinks and the royals with cheese are something like 23 and 2 against the white sux. What an embarrassment to baseball
