Big year for QBs in the draft

I don't care about Fields. I'm talking about the upcoming draft.

That's the whole picture. The Bears are hitching their wagon to Fields or Williams. Pick one.

I can assure you it's not Fields

Yeah, I prefer trafing the first pick and grabbing Bo Nix later. Trade Fields.

I said many times to friends Daniel Jones was Dave Brown 2.0.... which is a huge insult to Daniel Jones.

Simms was overrated though.

All he did was win once he got past his injuries.  Didn’t have much to work with outside of Bavaro.  He’s underrated.

If the Bears get a young quality DE, their defense will be top 5 for at least the next few years.

If they also get Harrison or Bowers, and a quality center, they could be a top 5 offense even if they use Bagant at QB.

I understand they turned it around a lot defensively.   But top 5 for years is a bit of a high bar.  They wanted to send GB home and GB torched thrm last week of season.

I think his reason for mentioning Hurts, Prescott, Love  was that he was giving examples of QBs who were not considered at the top of their respective classes. for all the crap Dak gets, the list of guys picked before Dak is sad. Hurts was a 2nd rounder and Love was pick.. 25?  So I think or hope his point was that you can, indeed trade back if there is not someone who stands out to you and you think the team benefits more from stockpiling assets.    Furthering that by mentioning two guys who were afterthoughts in their drafts (Brady, Purdy) although that is silly lottery ticket stuff.

not saying I agree

Oh for sure.  But teams werent giving up on them.  Dak came in got a chance and they went with him.  Eagles drafted Hurts in the 2nd and got him in and paid him.   No one was almost giving up on them.

Maybe, but you want a guy that does this? Seriously. Why was he convulsing while he cried so much. Why was he crying to mommy? Why was his back up better than him?

Its gonna be funny when they draft him.  Or at least funny as to your quick pivot here.

I don't care about GB. They are well run and I get it. They beat the Bears up. But tell me  who's won more conference championships since 2011.

Perhaps, they'll definitely get a haul for that pick, especially this year. After all their QB issues, I just can't see them passing up the highest rated available.

Eagle fans wanted his head right before he turned it around and then they all denied what they had been saying.  Interestingly, after this year some naysayers have reappeared.  Dak was getting roundly criticized last year when out and his back up was winning games.  Then when he started winning the critics returned this year.

Maybe on Jalen.   Dak is Dak.  He hsd a good year but hes still Dak.  They loved him when he was on a rookie deal.  Not so much when he flakes out each year after being paid.

I must have missed that.  Many thought he may not be good because how can GB pull another.   Dont remember too many ppl saying hes wrong guy. Or declaring him toast unless you listen to espn sports soap opera tv.

Again how can GB get impatient?  Hes had 1 season.   You are glad they didn't bench him?  That was never an option.   Still don't get it.

There was zero shot they draft him in 1st round and just throw him away before they see him.

Again 2 very different situations.  No one in GB was saying they need to go draft a new QB and get rid of Love.

You did.

I have noticed you like to take exception with pretty much everything I write.  I don't recall blackening your eye or kicking your dog, but if i did and it was uncalled for I apologize.

Same, I'm just reading the terrain and extrapolating what we see. You never know with the Bears, they could keep the pick and draft a long snapper 😜

My not too revolutionary or controversial point is sometimes patience pays off in developing Q.B's.  Sometimes giving them protection and weapons pays off.  Sometimes continuity of coaching and systems pays off.  Seeking instant gratification sometimes means you came prematurely.

Fields has had 3 years of NFL starting football.  After being at a big successful program.

A bit different than Love sitting and people getting antsy that he will never get in and was a wasted pick.  Several people thought he may suck.  But there was no "being impatient" with him.  They had Rodgers.  Rodgers left and the reigns were his for the year.  Good ot bad it was his job all year no matter what.  Everyone understood this.

Totally different situations.

Dak took a big step forward this season and Hurts took a huge step back this season. Hurts really regressed, he looked lost as the season went on.

Beats me. But at this time, not next year maybe, Williams is a puss. Maybe NFL teammates will help him grow up. And is he really 6'1", or is he 6'1" college advertising height?

i must have glossed over the giving up part. I didn't think he was saying anyone gave up on any of those QBs

Yeah. They really focked up getting DJ Moore, Darnell Wright, Tyrique Stevenson, and the #1 pick this year for Bryce Young. 😆

Impatient to me is giving up....no?

Dak came in and played well as a 5th rounder.  People loved him for it.  He got to where he needed to get paid and he really hasn't improved all that much and is still Dak.

Its not like Hurts and Dak came in and sucked for 3 years then patience paid off.  Is what im getting at.

That was a brilliant trade. Now they'll be drafting a real QB with that pick.

It's hard to screw up. Just take the highest rated QB on the board.

The bears have more conf championship since 2011.  Who has more since 96?

And this is what loser franchises resort to.  Your SB each year is GB games and the Bears get owned each year.

You have to excuse Bears fans.  They are deathly afraid of making a decision and picking their guy.  Because they aren't good at it.  So they would rather just take whoevers left.

If the Bears stay put and draft a QB, which I think they should, I hope they bring in a veteran to start off the season. Even if the rookie takes over midway. I just think it's a beneficial approach.

My gut says they keep the pick and Caleb Williams is the guy. He will start from day 1 and fans will be wishing they had draft Drake Maye by November.

I didn't realize he was talking about patience or anything like that. I thought he was mentioning QB's who were not viewed as being at the top of their respective draft classes. I was reading what he wrote based on what you quoted.

Wow. 2 whole superbowl wins since what, the 60's? And you are boasting about it.

You seriously have been trying hard to work in how you, a fudge packer, hate the Bears.  I get it. But your team sucks too. The freak Aaron Rodgers won 1 conference championship with that loser team in like 16 years of praise from you dumbasses.

At least I'm honest about the Bears failures.  You may want to learn to own up, .

It was a good trade. Not a brilliant one. There is no way in hell Bears fans would take that trade again if the alternative was drafting CJ Stroud.  Of course, that is hindsight... but he was right up there in consideration for top QB off the board so it's not outlandish.

The Bears obviously did not feel completely confident in any of the QBs available and still had some hopes for Fields... so given the situation, it was a good trade. The problem is, If you don't hit on the right QB now, the rest of the haul from that trade really won't matter at all.
