Have any of you donated to your schools NIL?

If you have then im, genuinely curious about the logic.

I thought when this came up, this would be funded by businesses or corporations that could benefit from the advertising. But it seems more and more that it’s just for fans to donate, and this is where it loses me.

It’s being framed as an arms race to get and keep the talent that you have. I can’t fathom taking money you’ve earned through working all week and giving it to this to line of kids pocket so he can go out and get pizzas. And even if you donate, it doesn’t mean that he’s going to stay anyway.
Just curious if any of you guys are doing this?

This is for bigwig mega-donors. We give money for neighbor kids selling girl scout cookies or raising money for band equipment.

Doesn’t seem like it. Small sample size but following the two universities here in Iowa but they are constantly hitting up fans. 
 

It’s cringe level, but our guy at Iowa State literally does stupid human tricks if they raise X amount of dollars. Snow angels, shotgunning beers, etc..

No. The education system is awash with money, waste, and corruption. I'm not donating anything more, except for what they extort from my paychecks at the threat of gunpoint and jail.

I would rather waste my money on the Barbie movie rather than give it towards some uneducated idiot with dreams of becoming rich by remaining uneducated.
