Possession it's a misdemeanor. For sale it's enough to be a felony. Considering the other circumstances of the incident I bet they could charge him with intent to sell if they wanted to

Thats what big money gets you. perhaps a bit more leniency due to the potential of lawyers getting involved and mucking things up.

I don't see this going to trial since there's so much evidence and he's basically admitted to driving the car. They will likely charge him with as serious charges as they can so they can plea down to something lesser. They say he's facing up to 20 years, but that's not gonna happen. I doubt he does any time. He's going to spend some time in jail but probably not much at all. These are still pretty serious charges. It sounds like they already negotiated on the Fleeing charge, unless I missed it. That's the biggy.

IGotWorms 4,053 Posted April 12, 2024 GLENN HEIGHTS, Texas -- Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice surrendered to police Thursday on charges including aggravated assault after he and another driver of a speeding sports car allegedly caused a crash involving a half-dozen vehicles on a Dallas highway last month. A spokeswoman for Rice's attorney, Texas state Sen. Royce West, confirmed to The Associated Press on Thursday evening that Rice turned himself in at the Glenn Heights Police Department. Rice was booked into the regional jail in DeSoto, and West said he was released on bond Thursday night. In an emailed statement, West emphasized what he called Rice's "continued cooperation with law enforcement." "Mr. Rice acknowledges his actions and feels deeply for those injured as a result of this accident," the lawyer said. Sure he does. POS

This whole thing was way too high profile to just sweep under the rug I agree. There's a lot to unpack. 119 MPH, Reckless Driving causing bodily harm, leaving the scene of an accident, etc. Nothing would shock me anymore but I can't imagine him not doing ANY jail time. Even if it's just a week.

Vikings4ever 538 Posted May 7, 2024 https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashee-rice-under-investigation-for-nightclub-assault-monday-night Quote Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice, who already faces eight felony charges for a multi-car crash on March 30, now is being investigated for allegedly hitting a photographer at a night club in Dallas on Monday night, WFAA reports. According to the TV station, Dallas police are interviewing witnesses after an incident at Lit Kitchen. Rice’s availability for this season already was in question after he lost control of a Lamborghini while allegedly driving 119 mph and causing a six-vehicle crash on a Dallas highway. Two victims in the crash have filed a civil suit against Rice and suspended SMU cornerback Teddy Knox, who also was speeding in Rice’s Chevrolet Corvette when he also lost control and wrecked. JagFan 132 Posted May 9, 2024 Rice will be fine. I’m sure he took full advantage of having his college paid for with an athletic scholarship at SMU, and probably has a degree in a very high paying field to fall back on just like the majority of college athletes being gifted such a golden opportunity to better themselves at institutions of higher learning. He’s so much more fortunate than those kids that had to take out student loans which will take literally months for our amazing current elected administration to forgive. 1

Those facts could impact the manner in which his current entanglements are handled by the NFL. Per multiple sources, multiple teams learned during the pre-draft process about an alleged incident involving Rice while he was at SMU. Rice believed former SMU basketball player Kendric Davis was seeing Rice’s girlfriend. Rice and some of his friends, per the specific information gathered by at least one team, went to an SMU basketball game. Rice (or someone with him), per the specific information gathered by at least one team, fired multiple bullets into the empty car belonging to Kendric Davis. ... The incident could become relevant to the NFL, if/when it imposes discipline on Rice under the Personal Conduct Policy. The policy states that "[p]layers with a prior history of misconduct, including misconduct occurring prior to their association with the NFL, will be subject to enhanced and/or expedited discipline.”

cmh6476 934 Posted August 29, 2024 The trial of Rashee Rice for his ongoing legal case has been scheduled for June 2025. The NFL is unlikely to place Rice on paid leave via the commissioner's exempt list, and the league will decide on a potential suspension once the legal process concludes, a source said, allowing him to continue playing in the meantime.
