First off most undocumented immigrants don’t come across the border at all. They arrive here legally by airplane, as tourists or students, and then simply fail to leave when their visas expire. 
 

Second, most undocumented immigrants who sneak across our southern border don’t encounter border guards. Most of the people you’re referring to are refugees which is a whole other category, not really undocumented immigrants at all, despite the constant attempt by some to conflate the two.

An interesting assertion.  This would mean that the "gotaways outnumber the encountered.  That would raise the number of total illegals substantially over most current estimates which erstimate the gottaways around 50% of the numbers of thsoe encountered.

Well not exactly because as I pointed out refugees are not undocumented immigrants but they do arrive at the border and so are included in border encounter statistics.

The difference between illegal immigrants and refugees these days is that refugees learned that they should say "asylum" to a border guard.  To think that there are this many refugees is laughable; you should be able to count them on your fingers and toes.

I listen to NPR. It is a bad habit I picked up as a young man I can not seem to kick now. They go out of their way to make people believe that Trump is going to lose Michigan. They say things like it is almost neck and neck or harris is gaining ground on trump in Michigan but they conveniently leave out the polling numbers or anything that would back them up. That being said I have driven around the state recently in different directions for some things and I did a count. On a recent 2 hour drive in the state I counted 87 trump signs and 15 harris signs. So few it started to become a game of find the harris sign. The media is lying about her chances. At least in Michigan they are.
