But the "Red Right" has a advantage in two of those three currently... Because of the Electoral College. So a lot of "Blue Voters" feel like Rural areas (less people) are making decisions for them. (More people) Just like many Rural voters are "afraid" CA and NY will make decisions for them if it goes away. This may be a good time for a declared “centrist” to finally read Federalist Paper #10. I saved you the time and asked grok to frame it in a dumbed-down context. In our current political landscape, we've seen how deeply divided we can become. Social media, political parties, and special interest groups have all contributed to creating what we might call "factions" - groups of citizens united by some common passion or interest that differs from the rights of others. The Problem: Whenever you get a bunch of people together, they're bound to disagree on stuff. These disagreements often lead to factions. Each faction might push its own agenda, which might not align with the common good. Historically, this could lead to civil unrest or even tyranny by the majority. Examples: Think of how environmental policies can pit urban professionals against rural workers, or how debates on healthcare divide us by income levels or moral beliefs. These aren't just disagreements; they're deep-seated factions with real-world consequences. Madison's Insight: Madison argued that the real problem isn't that people have different opinions or interests; it's that these factions can become so powerful, they override the rights of minorities or the good of the whole. In today's terms, a faction could control social media narratives, influence elections, or push legislation that benefits them over everyone else. Solution in a Modern Democracy: Madison suggested that a large republic, like the United States, could actually help solve this issue. Here's how: Diversity of Interests: In a big country with lots of people, there are countless different interests. This makes it harder for any single faction to take complete control because there are just too many competing viewpoints. Elected Representatives: Instead of direct democracy, where every citizen might vote on every issue, we elect representatives. These reps are supposed to think about the long-term good rather than just following the loudest voices or current trends. They can mediate between factions. Checks and Balances: The structure of government, with its separation of powers, ensures no one branch can be taken over completely by a faction. Each part of government can check the others, preventing any one group from getting too much power. Conclusion: The key to managing factionalism isn't to eliminate differences (that's impossible), but to create a system where no single faction can dominate at the expense of others. Today, this means embracing our diversity, ensuring fair representation, and maintaining a government structure that prevents any one group from overriding the rights of others. By doing so, we protect democracy from becoming a tyranny of the majority or the tyranny of any powerful minority faction.

No one needs the masses of stupid people living in overcrowded liberal run cities to be the majority of decision makers in this country. People who live by the code of poor decisions. Uneducated, violent, lazy, fat, drug addled, single parented, and craving government hand outs. Those people don't want to step up to be like the good people, they want to drag everyone down to be like them. Thank God for the Electoral College.

Biden issuing EOs to counter Trump’s executive orders countering Obama’s EOs, ad infinitum. Somewhere at the bottom of all those EOs is the actual original law. My point’s not odd at all when you realize Biden joined Lankford to create legislation that would end this constant rubber band of administrations doing just that. Btw Trump’s plans for mass deportations & sealing the border would take considerably more EOs & expansion of power, including emergency powers, than what we’ve previously seen.

Democrats in Congress have been clear won’t do their jobs on the border and the Trump border orders worked. This is fact. Also fact Biden has let in 12m+ in 4 years which have reaped havoc on our communities and the Lankford bill still allowed more of the same, 5k a day not including gotta-ways. How exactly does that bill secure our border? It does the opposite and would be ineffective like every other bill passed by congress in the past 20 years. The only effect they seem to have is additional debt burden on the American taxpayers. But also it triggered Title 42, which required CPB to shut down new entries & automatically deport, not release, when certain numbers hit. The 5K number in the Lankford-Biden bill did just that, so basically you’re arguing against a bill that enacted the very policy you’re lauding.

The bill incorporated key elements of Title 42 & one of them was the circuit breaker where when 5K per day for IIRC 3 days or 8500 in 1 day was met then entries were halted & auto-deportation was commenced. You bang the table for this stuff, someone hands it to you on a silver platter, & then because Trump coughs hundreds of miles away it’s spat out.

But that's in the past. I walked across the border and back two months ago, from San Diego to Tiajuana. It was easy, but thorough, they didn't check any documents going into Mexico, just a metal detector for bags. Coming back into the USA I had to have my ID and was asked several questions about why i was in Mexico. One guy had the wrong answers and they took him into a room.
